Nobody reads a brochure for a full minute. They will read a windmill.

Centenary Park Golf Course is under new management. Peninsula Leisure took it on in July, alongside PARC, PINES and Frankston Skatepark, and yesterday they wanted the region to know.

So we built them a branded three hole course for the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula Business Festival at Frankston Arts Centre. A hole in one put you in the draw for a $100 voucher.

We were the only activity on the floor. We brought the fun, and by the end of the day it was the most photographed stand there.

Centenary Park is a public course in Frankston. Worth a round.

Hole 2 of our online course, The Dog Leg. Full power off the tee every time, so the only thing that changes is where you aim. The markers are touching, which is the whole difficulty. One of the wrong ones finishes less than seventy pixels away and still does not drop.

The breakout area is the part of the conference nobody plans.

It gets a coffee cart, some beanbags and whatever will fit through the door. Usually because it is the corner of the venue with no spare power and no cabling allowance, which rules out almost everything interesting.

These two do not need any. Both run on battery for a full day.

FastPutt is seven holes in sixty seconds, or thirty if you fancy yourself. Hole in One is a single putt and takes up about a metre by two and a half.

Side by side you get two different queues, one that turns over in seconds and one that holds somebody for a minute. That is the part most activations get wrong.

If you have a breakout area and no plan for it, that is worth a conversation. Melbourne and Adelaide.

Seven days of winter left, and then the weddings start.

By now the list is mostly ticked. Bride, groom, venue, celebrant, photographer, cake, playlist, seating chart.

The one nobody writes down is the gap between the ceremony and the reception, when you are off having photos taken and your guests are standing on a lawn holding a drink, waiting.

That is the bit we fill. Nine holes and a full set of lawn games, set up at your venue and packed down after. One package, everything in it, no per-head charges.

The plan was corporate offices.

It still is. But a course that packs down into a van tends to go wherever somebody asks it to go, and the list has got longer than the brochure.

An office corridor. A brewery. A school hall. The grass outside John Cain Arena. And this, a driveway in Melbourne, back in May. Nine holes down the nature strip, the footpath and the drive.

We have been building these since March 2023. Three and a half years, and we still stop what we are doing when the first ball goes in.

Somebody asked for Albert Park in wire.

So we made it. The whole circuit bent by hand, green at the start, red at the finish, a chequered flag on the wire and a timer running in between. Touch the sides and it buzzes.

We have never seen another one anywhere, and we have looked.

This is the part of the job most people do not know we do. The games are ours, so the shape of them is negotiable. If your brand has a track, a logo, a coastline or a product outline, it can be the wire.

Built back in March. Still the one I point at when somebody asks what custom actually means.

Who remembers the drinks trolley on a Friday?

It got quietly wheeled out of the building somewhere along the way, along with the birthday cake in the kitchen and the four o'clock finish. All filed under outdated.

Some of them probably deserved it. The trolley did not.

Oktoberfest starts on 19 September. One month from today, and a fair excuse to put the trolley back on the floor for an afternoon.

Add nine holes and a putter. Standing around is easier when there is something to do with your hands.

We will bring the first nine. You bring the tenth.

You cannot fake a reaction time.

Five rods light up. One of them goes out at random. First hand on that rod takes the point. Move before it goes out and you lose it, which is the part that catches people.

Two players, hands flat on the buttons, about thirty seconds a round. Anyone watching can see exactly who went too early.

For an exhibition booth that is the whole job. It stops people walking past, and it gives them a reason to stay and watch the next pair go.

In an office it does something better. It creates a legend that gets brought up for months.

It is called Sn**ch It. It belongs to our partner Epic Hire, who have it as the first of its kind in Australia, and it is brand new for 2026. We were out helping them run it.

Best one versus one reaction game I have seen.

Before a Melbourne United home game last October, we put nine holes on the grass outside John Cain Arena.

Free to play for anyone walking in. Basketball crowd, putters, and Rod Laver Arena over the fence.

Lawns, function rooms, warehouses, office floors, shopping centres, and once outside an NBL game. The course does not much care where it goes.

If you have the space, we can put a golf course in it.

Do you ever sit at work and just wish there was a money tree?

Federation University found the next best thing.

They put a cash cube in the middle of their Open Day, wrapped it in their own branding, renamed it the Storm Booth, and filled it with tickets. Ten seconds inside, grab what you can, and one of them makes you a winner.

We ran it with our partner Epic Hire. The machine and the print are theirs.

The clever part is not the cube, it is what you put in it. Tickets, vouchers, discount codes, fake cash, whatever your prize actually is. A giveaway nobody bothers to collect becomes a queue.

That is the whole trick on a stand. Do not hand people something. Give them ten seconds to grab it.
