Hatha yoga classes in nipaluna/Hobart, suitable for beginner and intermediate. ~ Tula ~
The name Tula means ‘balance’ in Sanskrit. Iyengar)
To me Tula represents being grounded whilst light; the space between resistance and surrender; in the physical body being engaged whilst soft. This balance, this state of presence, is what I aim to integrate into my classes.
~ The classes ~
Focussed on the hatha style of yoga, classes are generally one hour long including a short meditation at the beginning and end of each class and around 45 mi
nutes of physical practice (asana). All classes are suitable for beginners as well as those with a little more experience. I offer modifications to suit individuals and with small class sizes, attend to everyone personally as much as possible. Details about dates, times and pricing of classes will be posted on this page. Keep an eye on the 'events' section.
~ A little about me ~
My name is Elise, I completed my yoga teacher training (RYS 200) in 2017 through the Sacred Seeds Yoga School in Hobart and have since been teaching weekly classes in Mount Stuart. I have built on my foundational training by undertaking body movement and anatomy short courses and workshops. In January 2020 I completed my Kids Yoga Teacher training through Rainbow Yoga in Melbourne and in 2023 completed pre and postnatal yoga teaching qualifications. I take great joy in sharing the knowledge and inspiration I’ve gained over years of dedicated practice and study. I have practiced and trained principally in hatha yoga but also bikram, ashtanga, iyengar and yin. All of these styles help to shape the way I teach. I have a passion for helping people disconnect from the busyness of their day-to-day lives and reconnect with their deeper, sometimes forgotten internal values. My yoga classes offer people a chance to develop deeper self-awareness whilst building strength and flexibility through playful exploration of the body, mind and breath. I aim to equip students with skills they can use both on and off the yoga mat to improve their wellbeing. Through yoga I have found strength, balance and self-empowerment. Through Tula I would like to help others discover how yoga can benefit their lives.
