GEFSCO tribute..

Something very very special for Retro Day - 12 September .... Sue Scott has donated Geoff's very last bike to raise funds for Junior Cycling at Randwick - and for the benefit of all juniors at Heffron Park.

The is the final frame made by the great Geoff Scott. It was built as the bike he wanted to ride - handcrafted using exotic 753 Reynolds tubing. It is a stunner! The photos show the extensive pantographing on almost every part of the frame - no doubt painted out by Sue.

The frame measures 55.5 cm CTC for the top tube and down tube.

Incredibly, the origins of this frame were captured right from the beginning as simple tubes and lugs by Greg Softley Gregory Softley See his photos for more detail.. https://www.gefsco.net/753-build-2020

So... interested? One lucky person will walk away with this beautiful piece of history at the end of retro day.

All you need to do is honour Sue's wishes and donate to the Randwick Junior program through this link..
https://asf.org.au/campaigns/randwick-cycling/randwick-cycling-junior-development-program?modalOpen=false

Donations to the Junior Program are tax deductible.

For every $10 donated, Randwick will give you a ticket in the draw to win this amazing frame.

We'll also take donations at the retro day event.

Thanks so much to Sue Scott and all of Geoff's family.

A big thanks to Velo Tech Centre and NIOR STUDIOS ϟK e s t e r u ǝ ǝ n b ɔ ɯ ϟ for the top class phtography.

Note the frame will come with a full build kit (shimano ultegra) as originally built up by Geoff.

If you slept in, you probably missed the best morning of the year - yes I’m calling it. It was warm, it was bright and an awesome day to hit those hills…

A big announcement for Femme's cycling... On Saturday 12th September we'll be launching a new female Handicap Race for Sydney.

The race will honour Julie Speight, a former Randwick junior who went on to become the first woman to represent Australia in track cycling at the Olympic Games (1988), claimed Australia’s first ever Commonwealth Games women’s sprint medal (1990) and claimed eight national titles on the road and track, including winning both the national road race and national sprint title in 1983.

The Handicap will provide competitive Femmes racers (A, B & C grade) with the chance to race at Heffron Park for the inaugural Julie Speight Handicap trophy. The event will be part of a big day at Heffron Park with the Club also hosting Retro Day and the Snow Wilson Classic. Stay tuned for more details - and we'll look forward to seeing you on the 12th Sept.

All this has been made possible through the support of Claudio's Seafoods. Claudio's is supporting cycling so please support Claudio's.

Stay tuned for more details!
