I’ve been a coach for 16 years and trust me, I’ve seen it all.
But nothing annoys me more than seeing “influencers” and coaches slagging off different styles of training.
Cardio or strength.
Running is the devil.
CrossFit is the devil.
Dance isn’t a workout.
Pilates isn’t strength.
Fkkkkkkkk
No wonder people find movement so bloody overwhelming.
They either don’t start because they have no idea what they’re “supposed” to be doing, or they force themselves into a style of training they hate because someone told them it’s the only way to get results.
Then 4 weeks later, they quit.
Yes, you don’t have to LOVE every workout, especially when you’re starting out and trying to get fitter and stronger.
Yes, challenging yourself is important.
And yes, there are smarter ways to train depending on your goals.
BUT...
The best results I’ve seen in 16 years of coaching have come from people who find something they can actually sustain. They keep showing up.
They start feeling fitter and stronger.
They start making smarter food choices.
Movement becomes a mental release, not another punishment.
They feel better, so they think better.
And that starts flowing into so many other choices in their life.
So drown out the noise and start tuning into YOUR body.
What works for me might not work for you.
What you love might be something I hate.
And that’s okay.
I hated running, strength training and the gym when I first started.
So I chose aerobics.
Why? Because I loved it and it was something I could actually do.
A few months in, I felt fitter. I felt stronger. I had more confidence in my body and I was ready to try new things.
Now I LOVE strength training
I LOVE running
I LOVE the gym
And I continue to do them because I understand the importance of different styles of training
But aerobics got me through the door
So if dancing gets you through the door, DANCE.
If Pilates gets you through the door, DO PILATES.
If walking gets you through the door, WALK.
If lifting heavy s**t makes you feel alive, LIFT.
Stop letting the internet convince you that movement only counts if you’re doing it their way.
