We’ve got things to celebrate at the Rippers!

Our year 7/8 and 9/10 Girls’ teams won their elimination finals over the weekend! They’ll play next weekend to defend their spots🌟🦁

Happy 50 games to Ashley Sampi and Will Kelly! This winter season was Ashley’s first season with Manning Rippers, and he has been an amazing addition to the team. He the son of the legend Ashley Sampi. Will made it to 50 a few weeks earlier, and he has played all of his games at Manning Rippers, where his dad, Steve, played as a junior and senior. They got to run through the banner together at their game last weekend in celebration. 🎉

All 4 senior teams in the finals are through to the next round. Let’s go Rippers, 4 teams in the GF would be a massive feat and we reckon we can do it 🦁🧡🦁

Some lovely moments from the club recently:

1. Our year 5 boys team at the NAIDOC round celebrations in Round 11 hosted by the Vic Park Raiders JFC. Big thanks to Vaughn McGuire who did the welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony on the day.

2. 5 of our girls celebrated 50 games at Manning! Congrats to Brooke, Amelie, Charlotte, Eloise (pictured) and Amahlia on a fantastic milestone, can’t wait to see you all on the Women’s team in a few years.

3. Friends who play footy together, stick together! From year 3 to year 7/8.

4. Our year 7/8 girls celebrate a win!

5. Our year 10 boys pose for a team photo.

6. The year 10 team know how to proudly sing the club song after a win.

7. Our Auskick reunion with players from the 1960s, we had 20 men come down to chat about the Rippers of old and see how much the club has changed and evolved over the last 60 years. Thanks to Ray for organising!

8. Volunteers Brad, Jo, Club President, Callum, and Scott making sure the reunion ran smoothly.

9. The turn out to our Auskick wind up! Great to see so many people, the kids got their medals and certificates, then were treated to pizza and ice cream.

We’ve got some recent milestone games to celebrate for our Senior and Junior teams!

All Celebrating 100 games for Manning Rippers we have:
Zach ‘Fraz’ Ferrari (Reserves)
Michael Barbaro (Year 10)
Hunter Cowcher (Year 10)
Fletcher ‘Fletch’ O’Reilly (League)
Nelson ‘Binga’ Tulip (League)

Zach is not only a player, he also volunteers as the Membership Coordinator for the club. He is pictured being chaired off by our President and Vice President - fun fact, these three men have played together at Manning since Auskick days!

Michael’s a goal kicking midfielder with great athleticism. He loves the Rippers jumper and wears his heart on his sleeve type of player. An O.G of Auskick in 2016, we are so proud of Michael’s loyalty through the years to become a 100 game, one club player. Swipe for the throwback!

Hunter began at the Rippers in year 7. Like many boys from the bush, Manning becomes a big part of their journey while boarding at Aquinas. Hunter’s football has improved every year and is a committed and well respected team player.

Fletcher has been playing for Manning since 2021, but also played for South City Thunder as a teenager. Fletch is known for his hard work in the midfield, winning ‘Best and Fairest’ for our league team last year and most recently his stint as a model for the club.

Nelson is key defender for our League team, he’s been a playing for Seniors since 2020 but was previously a junior from 2013. He’s known around the club for being an easy going Larrikin who commits to the bit and loves a chance to dress up in costume.

We are proud to announce that this week is our Mental Health Round in cooperation with A Stitch in Time. As a club we will be raising funds for them through raffles, bake sales and proceeds from our new ‘Stealth’ jerseys (check ‘em out). Our senior teams have had a session tonight presented by Tackle Your Feelings Australia in, encouraging camaraderie among our teams so they can all feel safe enough to speak up when they need support.

We encourage everyone to come down this Saturday, all teams are playing at home, to help us raise funds and awareness for Mental Health in sport.

A special thank you to Eco-Seal WA, Equinox Carpentry and MKG Partners for sponsoring our jerseys. 🦁

Manning Rippers first - Club Legend Luke Lovett and his son, Koby, played together over the weekend for our Reserves team! This was Koby’s reserves debut, his grandfather was even a boundary umpire for the game. This is what we love about footy at the Rippers, seeing families who stick around for generations continue their legacy at the club 🦁
