⛵️ South Passage – Adventure Under Sail 🌊🐋

We departed Rosslyn Bay with a crew of 11, setting our course south under sail and enjoying some fantastic teamwork on deck. 💙⛵️ Along the way we were treated to incredible whale sightings — always a magical reminder of the wonders of our oceans! 🐋✨

As the sun set, we anchored at beautiful Cape Capricorn and took the opportunity to walk up to the lighthouse, soaking in the spectacular views. 🌅⚓️

Bright and early this morning, the anchor was aweigh at 6:00am as we set our heading towards the stunning Lady Musgrave Island. Fair winds, great company, and more adventures ahead! 🌬️⛵️🌴

⛵ Adventure Under Sail: Townsville to Mackay

Our recent adult voyage from Townsville to Mackay proved that you don't need a big crew to have a big adventure!

With a small but enthusiastic team on board, everyone pitched in - hoisting sails, keeping watch and working together as we made our way south. We were even treated to some incredible whale sightings along the way. 🐋

Great teamwork, plenty of laughs and unforgettable moments made this voyage one to remember.

⛵ What an incredible five-day adventure voyage for the Townsville Grammar School Year 10 students aboard South Passage! 🌊

The voyage took students from Townsville to Orpheus Island, up to Brooke Island, through the spectacular Hinchinbrook Channel, and back to Rattlesnake Island. 🏝️

For Command Day, the students navigated from Rattlesnake Island to a marker in the bay, successfully plotting a course past designated points. They also tackled some fun bonus challenges:

⛵ Identifying parts of the ship for Phil, Blue Watch Leader
🐠 Performing a song and dance about sea life for Rachael, White Watch Leader

The students completed every task brilliantly and earned the Silver Award for Command Day! 🥈👏

Thank you, Year 10, for such a fantastic voyage. The ROPES principles were upheld 100% throughout the adventure.

Command Day has arrived! 💪⚓

Today it’s over to our amazing Year 10 crew as they take the helm and sail South Passage home to Townsville! 🌬️⛵ Every knot they’ve learned, every sail they’ve hoisted, every anchor they’ve weighed, and every challenge they’ve conquered has led to this moment.

From strangers to shipmates, they’ve grown in confidence, teamwork, leadership and resilience. Watching these young sailors step up, make decisions, and work together as a crew has been incredible! 🌟👏
