Good morning all,

Just a couple of things about next weeks AJKA National in Cairns:-

1. I have some QLD back patches for those who do not have one and are competing. Message me and we can arrange delivery. They do need to be sewn securely onto the gi.

2. There will be judo for Nationals competitors on Mon and Wed next week at 5:30pm - 6:30pm.

3. Weigh-in is strictly in Cairns. That means that all competitors must weigh in either on Friday or Saturday at the correct time. Location is the same as the Nationals. Competitors should weigh-in wearing their judo pants, and a white, plain, non v-neck t-shirt for girls.

4. For those heading down to weigh-in on Friday afternoon - the kata competition begins at 4pm which is always nice to watch.

5. Set up for the Nationals will begin on Friday morning. We will meet at 7am at the judo hall to transfer some of our mats down to Cairns. If you can help please let Luke or myself know this week.

Hi judo parents,

Just a reminder - Judo Comp next weekend:-

Date: Saturday 29th August 2026
When: 9am (please arrive a little earlier so we can start on time).
Where: Southside Judo Club (Gordonvale Rugby League Grounds)

This is a great opportunity for everyone to start learning about judo competition and this comp is for everyone. It's also a really good warm up to the Nationals in Cairns in September.

I will be getting names and details on Monday and Wednesday at training. Please support the comp and come if you can!

If you are intending to head to the Nationals and haven't signed up yet - please do so asap. I'll be getting a count of Malanda competitors this week.

Hi everyone,

Due to very low competitor numbers our inter club competition with Gordonvale has been postponed. You’re still invited to their training session if you wish 😀. The competition will be rescheduled for another weekend.

If you are planning to come to our competition next Saturday March the 14th - please come at least once this week to training so that I can get weights and details for the draw.
