๐Ÿ’› Fundraiser for Jayden โ€“ 26 September ๐Ÿ’›

On 26 May, fourโ€‘yearโ€‘old Jaydenโ€™s world changed when he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Wilms Tumour after presenting to Maitland Hospital with stomach pains and a fever. The cancer has spread to his lymph nodes, lung and the vena cava, making immediate surgery impossible.

Jayden is now undergoing 6โ€“8 weeks of chemotherapy to shrink the tumour before major surgery at Westmead Childrenโ€™s Hospital. This has placed significant financial strain on Alicia and Kane during an incredibly difficult time.
South Maitland Railway Cricket Club is hosting a Fundraiser Day on 26 September to support the family.

LEGENDS DAY - BRING YOUR CLUB COLOURS

Saturday October 3rd will see the Plovers "Legends" team take on an invitational Maitland/Hunter River "Legends" team at Coronation Oval from 1pm.

We're celebrating all things cricket, and all things Maitland. WSCC are encouraging all players, supporters and families to join in the fun and festivities by breaking out your best retro cricket caps / wide brims / terry towelling bucket hats from the past and wear your colours proudly.

Help us celebrate 80 seasons since the return of district cricket to Maitland by adding your piece of colour to the day.

ANY CLUB. ANY ERA. ANY STYLE.

๐Ÿ’™ Maitland District Cricket Association is proud to announce our inaugural Mental Health Round, proudly supporting Beyond Blue. ๐Ÿ’™

For the first time, the MDCA will dedicate a competition round on Saturday 24th October, 2026 to raising awareness of mental health and wellbeing, while supporting the incredible work of Beyond Blue.

Cricket is much more than a gameโ€”it brings people together, creates lifelong friendships, and provides a support network both on and off the field. Mental health affects everyone, and by working together we can help break the stigma, encourage conversations, and remind those around us that they are never alone.

We encourage all affiliated clubs to get involved in any way they can. Whether it's wearing blue, holding a minute's reflection, fundraising, checking in on a teammate, or simply starting a conversation, every effort helps make a difference.

To support this initiative, the MDCA has established an official Beyond Blue fundraising page. If you would like to make a donation, simply copy & paste the link on the flyer below. Every dollar raised will go directly to Beyond Blue to help provide vital mental health support and services across Australia.

Together, let's make our inaugural Mental Health Round a memorable one.

๐Ÿ’™ Check In. Speak Up. Look Out.
