A client brought this Wi******er pump action shotgun to us - unfortunately it had a bulge in the barrel. Not wanting to go through the onerous process of getting a replacement, they asked us if we could source a replacement barrel. We asked around and no one had a barrel to suit that they would sell, so the only other option is to make a barrel fit.

Bill was able to machine up an adaptor so an Adler barrel could be fitted into the Wi******er breach block that contains the locking lugs. Once timed so the Headspace is correct and the mag tube lug is in the right position, he's machined the recesses for the extractors and now it's time to test fire it.

Tikka T3x rifles in magnum calibers have relitively short magazines. This rifle was in 300 Win Mag, but Bill converted it to 300PRC.
TSE barrel with a 1/8" twist means it will handle even the javelin shaped Hornady ELDM 250gr.
300PRC factory ammo will fit in the mag, but you can't eject a loaded round. Bill carefully opened up the ejection port without removing any material from the locking area.

Some graphite black by Rohan, our Cerakote guy, and it's heading out to Kal to belt some camels.

Stolle Actions -

Panda F Class actions are a single shot aluminium action with a steel insert for the barrel thread and locking lug area. With a big square bottom, the aluminium body adds to the rigidity of the action while keeping the weight down. Available in right hand or left hand, with right port; left port; dual port and mini port, to suit nearly any caliber.
The Atlas Tactical is Stolle's R700 clone, but with lots of extra features. Now with a one piece bolt and handle too, for extra strength. Double pinned recoil lugs, for those doing switch barrels and wanting the lug to not bind. A full 3.85" magazine cut-out in long action, for those seating their projectiles right out. Awesome actions for the competition shooter or the hunter

Bit of a debate between smith's this week - do you chamber and thread, or thread and then chamber?

Which way you do it seems to be determined by -
1. What tooling and measuring equipment you like to use
2. What processes you follow
3. How you were taught to fit barrels
4. What feels most comfortable

The proof of the pudding is always in the eating - the outcome is what's important.

Personally, I prefer to chamber first and then set the tennon length and thread. If it's a tricky one, or something I'm not familiar with, I leave the shoulder length short and then slowly trim the shoulder back until the Headspace comes into spec. I can do this precisely with my digital readout.

Training applicants for Corporate Licenses is part of what we do.

On Tuesday the 30th of June we trained 10 people from CBH to safely and ethically use fi****ms for grain protection. Our tailored courses provide comprehensive, relevant information and includes live fire coaching in firearm marksmanship.

Tuesday was a bit wet and wild, but these trainees passed with flying colours. Thanks again to WARA Pinjar for allowing us to hire their facilities.

R***r made Marlin 1895 in 45/70.

Keeping muzzle flip down and taming recoil makes these big girls much more manageable. Our "Standard" muzzle brake tapered in to profile of the barrel works really well to maintain a sexy flow to the gun while taking the edge off the recoil.
