AUSA trials are coming back to Mackay 🔥

Mackay Basketball is proud to partner with AUSA Hoops to bring the 2027 AAU Tour Trials back to Mackay this year on Wednesday, September 23 👏

This is an opportunity for boys AND girls to put their talent on display and be identified for two different tour pathways in the USA 🇺🇸

We’re excited to introduce Super 6’s - a new program where the focus is on fun, development and game experience for kids aged Under 6 ⭐️

Open to kids aged 4 & 5 that aren’t already registered in our MBI Under 8 Junior Domestic Competition 😄

💥 Lower hoops
✅ Smaller court
🏀 Size 4 basketballs
⛹️ Small sided games
☑️ Teams randomly assigned each week
⏱️ Wednesdays 5:30pm–6:15pm

💰 The only cost is the Basketball Queensland registration fee of $7.44 to participate in Super 6's for the rest of 2026❗️

Super 6’s will commence on Wednesday, September 2. It will replace Meteormites at the 5:30pm–6:15pm timeslot ⌚️

What a way to finish the season for our McDonald's Mackay Meteorettes ☄️

After an incredible run through the NBL1 North season, the girls earned their opportunity to compete on the national stage, and they showed they belonged 💯

Despite falling short against Waverley and eventual NBL1 National champion Knox, this group continued to compete, represent Mackay with pride, and leave everything on the floor 🏀

A couple of HUGE individual performances capped off the weekend:

🔥 Chelsea Brook — 30 PTS | 11 REB vs Waverley
🔥 Cheyenne Bobongie — 26 PTS | 10 AST | 7 REB vs Knox

But more than the numbers, this season was about the fight, belief and togetherness of this group 👏

To our players, coaches, staff, volunteers and supporters, thank you for everything you poured into this season. You gave Mackay plenty to be proud of ❤️
