Ever lose your balance mid-swing?
Over 60% of amateur golfers can't balance on 1 leg for more than 10 seconds. That imbalance shows up as compensations throughout the swing.
TPI screening data shows golfers who fail the single-leg balance test on their lead side are more likely to early extend in the downswing - one of the most common and costly faults in golf.
Use this Single leg RDL to build a rock solid base and stay stable through impact.

Friday Fix π§
Do you find yourself hitting it fat, thin, or just not where you meant to?
That often comes down to core stability, not just swing mechanics. You need to maintain control at the point of impact.
Renegade Row helps with this. Despite being called "anti-rotation," this exercise actually strengthens the muscles that drive rotation in your swing. As you row, your core fights to keep your body still β training the same stability you need through your downswing and point of impact, when your body wants to rotate but needs to stay controlled.
This kind of training also helps reduce injury risk around the lower back, while building strength through your core β a genuine two-for-one.
4 sets of 5 rows each side, using a weight challenging enough that you can still keep your pelvis and trunk aligned throughout.

Want more clubhead speed?
It starts in your legs, not your arms.
The trap bar squat builds raw lower body power β the same explosive leg drive you need to push off the ground and transfer force up through your body into the ball.
Research shows there is a direct link between lower-body explosive power and clubhead speed.
Drive through the full foot, stand up with intent β treat every rep like you're trying to jump.
3 sets of 5, focus on speed out of the bottom.

Ever lose your posture or tend to sway in your backswing?
The half-kneeling single-arm KB overhead press trains your body to stay stacked and controlled while a force tries to pull you off-centre β the exact challenge your trail side faces during the downswing.
Nail this, and you'll strike the ball more consistently, with less energy leaking out sideways.
Keep the ribs down, glutes engaged, and press straight up β not out.
3 sets of 6-8 each side, controlled tempo.

Swing Speed Tuesday π₯
Distance doesn't start with your arms - it starts with the ground.
Load into the trail (back) foot on the backswing, then push off it explosively into the lead side on the downswing. Through ground reaction forces, this "Jump and Plant" pattern produces measurably higher clubhead speed than rotation alone.
Lateral box jumps train exactly that pattern - Load, push, transfer - building the explosive power you need to shift your weight properly amd speed up through impact.
Get as much vertical drive as you can, then land softly.

Still doing sit-ups and planks for your core? For golfers, that's not where the real value is.
Your swing needs rotational core strength - the ability to resist and control rotation, not just work linearly. That's exactly what Palloff does. Try these 3 variations.
Training cues:
Keep stance narrow. Hip width.
The further out you walk - the harder.
Brace core.
Extend arms long - that's where the money is.
Try 4 sets of 8 reps each side.

Golf is a rotational sport β but most gym training is straight up-and-down.
Landmine woodchops train your body to generate and control rotational force, the exact movement pattern your swing relies on for speed and consistency.
3 sets of 8 each side, driving the rotation from your hips β not just your arms.
