Registrations are open for the 22/23 season of Woolworths Cricket Blast. Join us on Thursday afternoons for games. Season starts in Term 4 with a ‘Come and Try - Meet & Greet' game on Thursday 27th October from 4-5:30 for those who can make it. Hope to see you there!

Stage 1 cricket for tonight has been cancelled due to rain. All ovals are unplayable. Hoping for better weather for next week.

Things have moved quickly, with improved vaccination rates sport is opening up again. We have decided to bring the Stage 1 forward to the 3rd of November. First couple of weeks will be sorting teams and getting everyone back into the swing of things.
If you don't have a team yet come on down to Katoomba Reserve on the Wednesday 3rd November from 4:00pm and see Dan, Tony, or Ian and we will slot you into a team.
Competition will commence and break for Christmas on the 15th December.

Cattle Dogs take on Mudgee at Home on the 14th of November in the first round of the Rod Hartas Trophy.

Organised cricket training is permitted from this week with a maximum number of 20 persons, regardless of age (includes all players /coaches/parents/friends).

COVID RESTRICTIONS
As per the current NSW Government Public Health Order, any person aged 16 and over that is not double vaccinated is not permitted to attend. If a parent of a player is not double vaccinated then they cannot stay at the ground to watch.

All attendees will be required to scan the QR code available at the ground, people without a smartphone need to inform a representative member of the club that they were or are in attendance.

Looks like we are going to be back to community sport sooner than expected. Can’t wait...

Following inspection of the grounds, Gloria Park and Top Reserve have very long grass but are dry. Some casual water on top reserve pitch that will dry out provided there is no more rain tomorrow.

If it is raining in the morning we will let everyone know how bad it is. Expect that we will get on but everyone will have to clear the infield to get some runs.

Here is a brief reminder of the T20 rules.

Can bowl from one end to facilitate quicker and safer games.
Free hits for all No-Balls
Wides for balls passing the pads down leg side.
Bowling and fielding restrictions.
Helmets for batsmen and Keepers up to the stumps compulsory.

Not looking good for the start of the T20's this weekend with persistent rain today. Tom Hunter Park is unplayable, games have been transferred to Gloria. We will get an inspection tomorrow afternoon for play on Saturday.

1st Division competition has been spilt into the 1st and 2nd grades. All points from the games already played carry through to the second half of the season. The draw for the remainder of the season has also been published on MyCricket.

We start a round of T20's this Saturday weather permitting. Council expected to mow the grounds this week, but with the weather the way it is, it may not happen.

The first round of T20's have bneen moved from Bottom Reserve as it will definitely be too wet and won't be mowed. Gloria is the same. Tom Hunter was mowed yesterday and with Top Reserve will be the best chances of getting on the park.

We'll make a call on Friday night if the council closes the grounds but they normally leave it to us to decide on the day.

It wouldn't be a first round in the Mountains without the obligatory washout. Katoomba x 2 , Wenty and Leura first grade teams at Katoomba Reserves awaiting confirmation from the Umps that the sponsors need to supported when it is wet.
