The strength: deadlifts

Six rounds of three at 70%, every two and a half minutes.

70% is genuinely heavy for a triple, and that interval gives you just enough recovery to make every rep count. Get set nice and deep, load those hamstrings, and drive.

The engine: 15-minute AMRAP

As many rounds as possible of:

5 touch-and-go power snatches
10 box jump-overs
6 wall walks

Touch-and-go power snatches, straight from the floor. Touch-and-go means no resting on the ground between reps, the bar comes down and comes straight back up.

Box jump-overs, all the way over the box, ten of them.

Wall walks, and this is where reps get lost. Start on the floor: knees, chest, hands down. Walk your feet up the wall to about a foot off the floor, then walk all the way back down until your chest touches the floor again. That chest-to-floor touch is the rep. "That'll do" doesn't count.

Hold yourself to the full range and the strength you build is real.

The strength you build here goes way beyond the barbell.

Most of us join a gym for the obvious reasons. To lose a bit of weight, get strong, change something about our lives.

And that happens. But the gym changes your life in more ways than you'll ever see coming.

You get stronger, sure. You also get more determined. You start backing yourself. And somewhere along the way, you make the kind of friendships that last for years.

That's the part nobody tells you about when you sign up. It's also the part that keeps you coming back. 💙

The strength you build here doesn't stay here.

I've had plenty of flat days, the kind where things just aren't going your way. Showing up to train has taught me how to weather them.

The coaches back me and help me trust myself, and that changes how I handle the tough stuff outside the gym, not just the barbell in front of me.

Stronger in here, stronger out there. 💙

We're bringing benchmark workouts to Sixty7Six.

We already test our strength lifts, and it's a great way to see how far you've come when it feels like you're just grinding away week to week.

So, we're doing the same for the rest of your fitness. One gym-specific benchmark workout every 2 months, six a year, one of each testing something different:
• Aerobic capacity
• Strength total
• Chipper
• Sprint
• Barbell cycling
• Bodyweight

Every result goes into Wodify, so you can look back and see your progress across your lifts, your endurance, your gymnastics, and your engine.

First one drops 16th September. Come and set your baseline. 💪

New vlog is up: our Strength & Skills Cycle Recap. 🎥

Scott and Jade sat down to talk through everything that's been happening in the gym over the last couple of months, and there's a lot in it.

We cover how we program back squats (never the same way twice), the clean and jerk cycle where we stripped it back to positions, and why we throw in odd movements like 60-inch box get-overs.

We also get into the stuff that makes this place what it is. Training through pregnancy and postpartum, adapting around injuries instead of giving up, what "scaling" actually means, and how our coaches stay on the same page so the 5am crew hears the same cues as the 6pm crew.

Grab a cuppa and have a watch.

This October, our gym is proud to be hosting a Telethon fundraiser in support of Perth Children’s Hospital, and this cause is incredibly close to home.

Our coach Kirsty, her husband Eddie and the Holder family know first-hand just how important children’s healthcare is.

When their daughter Asha was just two days old, she underwent emergency surgery for a gut malrotation. At just 13 months old, Asha and her family, spent six weeks in Sydney under the care of Westmead Children’s Hospital, where she underwent life-changing surgery to restore blood flow through her liver.

There were terrifying moments, countless hospital hours and an incredible team of doctors, surgeons and nurses working to give their little girl the best possible chance.

Asha is here today because of incredible medical care — and because hospitals like Perth Children’s Hospital are there when our kids need them most.

That’s why Telethon means so much to the Holder family, and why we’re proud to get behind it as a gym community.

And here’s how we’re making it count:
For every person who attends our Telethon fundraiser, our gym will donate $10 directly to the cause. ❤️

So bring your family, bring your friends, get involved and help us raise as much as we can.

Come along. Show up. Make a difference.

MINDSET - “Anything you add to something unsteady doesn’t make it bigger. It makes it wobblier.”
There’s a version of getting better that’s really just getting busier.

More on the calendar. More projects half-open. More weight on the bar. It feels like progress because there’s visibly more of it — but underneath, nothing has actually been made steady. You’ve just given the wobble more to work with.

The unglamorous truth is that most things fall over at the base, not the top.

That’s what Week 2 is really for. Week 1 you found the positions. This week we add load to them — and the load will tell you the truth about whether you actually own those positions or were just visiting. A push press from 60% that’s strict and clean is worth more than a heavier one that bends in the middle. Same with a front squat at 70% you can hold honestly.

It works the same outside here. Before you add the next thing, ask whether the last thing is standing on its own yet.

So this week, resist the urge to pile on.

Pick one thing — a lift, a habit, a routine at home — and instead of making it bigger, make it solid. Steady it until it doesn’t need you propping it up.

Then add. That’s when adding actually counts.

One cycle. Eight lessons. The full vlog's live now. 🎬

We just wrapped our Strength & Skills cycle and packed the whole thing into one video. A taste of what's inside:

💪 Why we never program the same squat twice
💪 The clean drill that fixed everyone's timing
💪 The 60-inch "box" move that's secretly a bar muscle-up
💙 Why we don't believe in balance — we believe in seasons
💙 Yes, you can lift while pregnant (and how we adapt for postpartum)
💙 Injured? You don't have to quit the gym
💪 Scaling explained (and why Jade's bar muscle-ups ghost her like a bad ex 😅)
💪 Why every coach here gives you the exact same cues

It all comes back to one thing: smarter training that meets you where you're at.

We're launching Foundations, a 6-week beginners program led by Coach Sue, made for the people who feel nervous about walking into a regular class. If that's you, you're exactly who we had in mind.

You'll learn all the movements you'd see in a normal session, build real strength and confidence, and go at a pace that suits a beginner. At the end you'll retest where you started and see your own progress in black and white, then step into regular classes already knowing you belong.

Starts Tuesday 8 September, 6.30–7.30pm, running 6 weeks. Just $99 for the full six weeks as an introductory special.

Know someone who's always wanted to give it a go but felt intimidated? Send them our way. This is the softest possible place to start. 💙
