The final games enabled the GEDP teams to show their polished football developed over the course of the season. See below the match reports for the teams:

U8 Maroon v Balmain
Great game today for our little girls. Still working on passing and playing as a team. Playing against a strong but lovely balmain team who we played earlier in the season. We previously lost to this team. But today we saw a massive improvement with the girls and ended up drawing l. I’m so proud of their development. They showed such spirit.

U9 Navy v Abbotsford
Today was the toughest game of the season for under 8/9 Maroon. We were really tested in the first half with Abbottsford running through the middle and having a few shots on goal forcing some excellence saves from our keeper. Both teams were very evenly matched and the game was going end to end. The second half played a little more in our favour and we managed to capitalise on opportunities to get the win.

U9 Maroon v Balmain B
U9 Maroon started slow vs Balmain B, 1-0 behind early. Girls turned it on, started moving the ball better and better, but couldn’t score, so trailing at half time.
The second half, the girls stayed focused and kept moving the ball well and capitalising on the space created allowing them to get a few good goals
A well deserved win for APIA u9 Maroon.

U10 Maroon v Balmain B
A close loss to Balmain B but the girls worked hard for each other

U10 Navy v Leichhardt Saints
The girls played well and battled it out for draw.

U11 Navy v Hurlstone Park
U11 Navy played against Hurlstone park today and ended with a draw. We were up in the first half with Hurlstone park scoring a last minute goal in the second. We had many opportunities at goal with the ball mostly in our possession however we struggled to convert.

U11 Maroon v Marrickville
U11 maroons had a loss to Marrickville today. An early opposition goal pushed the girls into a defensive mode, and the hunger just wasn’t there today. A last minute goal kept spirits high post match.

U12 Maroon v U12 Navy
Always good to play at Lambert Park, today we had the U12 APIA derby. Plenty of accurate passing and retaining possession, plenty of shots on goal, an entertaining game. 12 Navy beat 12 Maroon in the end.

U13 Navy v U13 Blue
Well done to u13 Navy. Deserved winners today in the prelim semi final against our banged up Blue squad. Really proud of how our girls showed up last few weeks consistently down a few troops and missing our GK. Best of luck to all in the GF and enjoy the off season!

U15 Maroon v Abbortsford
With the weather clearing the U15 grand final started slow with AJFC pushing hard in attack. A sustained period of defence ensured and the team started to push the ball around and get into the game. There was a mistake that opened up the left side of the play and enabled AJFC to capitalise and take the lead into half time.
After the break the team pressed relentlessly and it resulted in a great opportunity from the edge of the box which the team converted to equalise with 2 mins remaining. Golden goal extra time commenced with an arm wrestle in an end to end battle. Opportunities came for both teams without conversion. A late corner conceded resulted in a scuffle in front of goal with a soft clearance claimed by AJFC to convert a close range shot and take the win. Unfortunate result for the team as they controlled the game after half time. A great 2026 season with the team reaching 3 grandfinals in a row. Well done team and Forza Apia!

U16 Maroon v Canterbury

The girls started well however saw themselves down early after a quick transition from Canterbury. The APIA girls rallied and quickly brought the equalizer. In a highly physical contest the girls were strong in patches and created a number of opportunities only to fall short on the final pass or shot at goal. Another quick transition play allowed Canterbury to go ahead into the break.
They came out strong in the second half and once again continued to create chances without success. With 1 min to go the girls pressed hard at the Canterbury goal however Canterbury capitalised, scoring and taking the win.
Congratulations to the Canterbury girls winning the Grand Final.
I would like to thank the Earlwood Club for hosting today’s final at Earlwood Oval.
We are so proud of the girls who have had such a successful season.

Congratulations to all the teams who played in their respective semi finals this weekend. A special shout-out to the Girls U13 Maroon, U14 Maroon, U15 Maroon and U16 Maroon, as well as Boys U16/2 for qualifying into their leagues grand finals. See below for some match reports:

U13 Maroon v U13 Blue
A tight first half in the u13s derby game before the girls in maroon found their rhythm after the break to claim victory and an opportunity to play in the Grand Final. Credit to APIA Blue for a competitive game and good luck for their 2nd semi final against U13 Navy next week.

U13 Navy v Concord
It was tough today for U13 Navy which gave 100% with unfortunately no goals against a strong Concord. Extra time and straight to penalties where our team showed consistency and calm, taking home a great victory! Nothing comes easy!

U15 Maroon v Inter Lions
The game started and became an arm wrestle and a passage of play by Inter Lions in the attacking half resulted in them getting ahead. After the initial shock the team lifted and continued to attack and created opportunities to eventually equalise, 5 mins before half time. The half ended with some better passages of play and after the break the team continued to control the game and eventually took the lead half way in the 2nd half. The team held the game to qualify for the team's 3rd grand final in a row. Lots of positive play and performances. Well done team!

The U8 to U12 Girls sides got out on the pitch for some hard fought matches this weekend. See below for the match reports:

U7 Maroon v Earlwood
Was an early morning game for the girls. 7:30 AM start against a hard eligible team. The girls showed tenacity and strength, but unfortunately going down to Earlwood. Another great game of soccer.

U8 Maroon v Balmain D
Another win for our maroon u8/9 girls against Balmain D. More awesome goals against a very good keeper. Balmain tested our defence and forced us to hold our positions. Some great connections again from the back to our striker which resulted in our goals. Well done team

U9 Maroon v Enfield
U9 maroon lost against Enfield today. Disappointing game, with lots of opportunities just not converted to a goal.

U9 Navy v Abbortsford
U9 navy won against Abbotsford this morning. A slow first half but capitalised in the second half with being first to the ball and moving the ball around.

U10 Navy v Balmain B
Win to Apia 10 navy vs Balmain B this morning.

U10 Maroon v Russell Lea
U10s maroon were able to get the win against Russel Lea in a good game

U11 Maroon v Concord
U11 Maroon had a fantastic win against Concord. The girls played amazingly well as a team, communicating, moving, positioning and very hungry for the ball. This led to quite a few opportunities, and some great finishes. The girls played super calmly and their best game as a group all season!!!

U12 Navy v Inter Lions
U12 Navy had a frustrating loss to Inter Lions today. We were up for most of the game but let in some late goals. We had many shots on goal l and had a couple bounce off the posts and crossbar. In the end the Inter goalkeeper made the difference with a number of saves. Looking forward to the APIA derby next Sunday.

U12 Maroon
Unfortunately another loss. Girls need to work more together as a team and remember to look around and spread the ball out.
But even though defeated by the end of another loss they all came together to celebrate Sj’s birthday.

The Boys EDP teams had a great time on the pitch this weekend. See below for a few special match reports from the games:

U8 Kalac
Im super proud of the boys it’s really hard to be beaten by a team twice before and bounce back with a great collective team effort. Working so hard at the back and everybody putting so much pressure on the ball to win. Im so happy with everyone how they played, again just a couple panicking switch off moments. But can’t complain about an asbolutely fantastic win. Most complete performance of the year. Appreciate all the parents help, see you all next week.

U8 Konestabo
First of all, great work by Coach Dom for building a strong team bond within APIA Konestabo since the start of the season.
A solid performance against a competitive Inter lions team to get the win.
From the first minute we showed “intelligence” with the ball, and “hunger” to win the ball back, these are very important qualities for a young elite footballer to have and to continue developing.

U8 Aliazada
Back to winning ways today Aziazada! Bravo!!
Whilst we are focussed on positive results now for our remaining games as a coach I was even more pleased today with our overall team performance.
The best so far this season!
It was obvious today to see that our young player's football brains are developing. Every player today was not only thinking about passing the ball to team mates but executing

The ADP program had games against all different clubs this weekend, including a in-club derby. See match reports below:

U9/2 v Enfield
A really nice, flowing game today with plenty of good chances created by both teams. Some strong, stoic defending kept the game tight, with Apia coming away with a great win.

U10/2A v U10/2B
Very tough and tight game with two teams that have improved immensely since the beginning of the season. For 10B there was a massive improvement in our defensive play from last week. Players did much better in holding their position, not being dragged in and staying on their feet! Midfield was immense in tracking back and stifling their main playmakers and the wingers worked hard to track and defend against their opposite numbers working hard off the ball. It was a tight game in the first half and it was only when we started passing the ball out to the wings a bit more frequently that we finally got more momentum going forward. An ingenious player led swap saw our CB go to Striker and lucky for all involved the CB scored which just put us ahead. The game fizzled out a little in the last 5 minutes with multiple injuries to our opposition meaning they were down to 8 players to finish the game with their main playmaker injured and the the subs out injured too. A tough, entertaining game which reminded me how much I like football.

U11/1A v Inter Lions
U11A had great win over Inter Lions this afternoon.
The team got off to a fantastic start, taking a lead through their intensity, teamwork, and excellent ball movement. They were in total control during the first half and showed what they are capable of when they play with energy and purpose.
Unfortunately, we couldn't maintain that same intensity in the second half, allowing the game to become much more even.
A great first-half performance to build on, and plenty to learn from moving forward.

APIA U11/1B vs Marrickville
A very pleasing team performance despite the scoreline. The boys moved the ball smoothly through the thirds, showing patience and confidence in possession rather than forcing passes. Their positioning was excellent, with players providing good width and constantly creating passing options for one another. Defensively, the team worked extremely hard to apply pressure as a unit, winning the ball back quickly and limiting Marrickville’s time and space on the ball. Although we couldn’t find the winning goal, the overall style of play, effort, and discipline made this one of our strongest performances of the season. The result doesn’t fully reflect how well the boys played.

U12/A v Balmain B
It a tough day in the office for the boys. An early start to the morning didnt help. Balmain frazzled the boys all game. The APIA boys didnt get into the game at all. Alot of errors from the boys. Didnt have a ref so one of the assistant coach reffed and some decisions didnt go our way which really got to the boys. I do have a high standard for the boys especially after we vs harder opposition and won. It was a game to forget but the boys thought it was going to be an easy win but a good lesson that they gotta be ready for every game.

U13 v Enfield
Maurizio’s U13 showed some great determination to come from behind to draw with Earlwood

U14/1A v Concord
A fantastic win for the U14s today. We conceded in the opening minute and spent most of the game chasing the score, but the boys showed great resilience and never gave up. They worked hard for each other, moved the ball well, created plenty of chances, and scored the winner in the final minute.

It was a great display of character, teamwork, and determination. Really proud of the group’s attitude and performance throughout the match.

U14/1B
This week's focus was all about continuing to build momentum heading into the business end of the season. We challenged the boys to move the ball quicker, play with purpose, and be a team, not a collection of individuals. Safe to say they took that message on board.
The first half produced some outstanding football, with plenty of sharp two-touch combinations, excellent movement off the ball, and a number of quality attacking opportunities. Unfortunately, our finishing boots must've been left at home. 😅
Thankfully, a brilliant pass from found our striker, who made no mistake with a composed finish to give us a lead going into the break.

We played some fantastic football, created chance after chance through quick passing and intelligent movement, but couldn't quite put the game beyond doubt.
Most importantly, the boys showed maturity, controlled the game, defended well when needed, and kept our undefeated run alive! 💪🔥

U16 v Lakemba
Was an extremely difficult game to observe as the scoreline does not match the effort and level we played today.
The boys put in a great effort and played to keep in the game and really showed pride and mentality.
Although we lost we move on to our second chance game against Leichhardt saints next week!

The finals weeks of GEDP approach with the teams working hard in training and games. See below for this weeks match report:

U7 Maroon v Marrickville
It was a beautiful day to play soccer. The girls did really well and won against Marrickville.
We focused on passing which was much needed Tony stood in as coach which he was wonderful talking and explaining things to the girls.

U8 Maroon v Balmain D
Another beautiful game of football for the U8/9 Maroon. The opposition coach even commented on the girls passing and play out from the back. We are starting to keep our heads up when dribbling and looking for the pass then moving into space. It’s so good to see it all coming together. Great team goals lead to an APIA win against Balmain D

U9 Maroon v Strathfield
U9 maroon had a win against Strathfield. Good positioning from the girls and continuing to rotate girls through different positions. We have lost a bit of our energy and will try to get that back for the last few games of the season.

U10 Navy v Earlwood
A big week of football for the U10 navy,
This morning vs Earlwood they were able to get the win after a practice game v JDL in the week.

U11 Navy v Enfield
U11 Navy girls played Enfield this morning at Algie Park. The first half was a tough one. We played some good football, but we weren’t quite aggressive or physical enough and our defence let us down, which allowed Enfield to take a lead.
The response in the second half was outstanding. The girls listened to the halftime instructions, put them into practice and scored excellent goals.
We couldn’t be prouder of their determination, teamwork and willingness to learn

U12 Navy v Inter Lions
U12 Navy had another closely fought encounter with Inter Lions at Algie Park. We play Inter 3 times in the final 4 games of the season and they always give us a challenging game. Both midfields very competitive trying to keep possession and there were not a great number of shots on goal from either side, but APIA prevailed in the end.

U12 Maroon v Leichhardt Saints
Under 12s maroon loss to Leichhardt
The field wasn’t the best for the girls to play on however they worked hard. Sadly they couldn’t come up with the result

U13 Navy v U13 Maroon
Great intensity from both teams for 60 mins straight. Well done to Fabio, Kate and the whole team for an impressive season. Win to the Maroons.

U14 Navy v Balmain
U14 Navy played Balmain this morning. First half the team played with good structure but a lapse in concentration at the back lead to an unfortunate goal. Chased to the game too much after that and couldn’t tie it up. Unfortunately our first loss of the season, but hopefully some good learnings for finals.

U15 Maroon v Abbortsford
A top of the table battle vrs AJFC awaited the U15 in the prelim semi today for a place in the grand final. A positive start and passages from the team resulted in a quick lead to APIA. As opportunities were few and far between the game half time arrived very quickly. AJFC came out strong after the break with a strong push for an equiliser. An opportunistic long shot bounced through and was unfortunately missed on the goal line to equalise about 15 mins into the half. Further pressure prevailed with sea saw of passages and with another opportunistic long shot from AJFC surprised everyone to take the lead with 10 mins remaining. With the team chasing the game an arm wrestle prevailed without a goal. The loss means an elimination final against inter to take the long road to the grand final.

U16 Maroon v Canterbury
The U16 Maroon played their Major Semi Final v Canterbury The girls were tasked with being more energetic from the first whistle and increasing their desire to win the ball. They worked hard however saw themselves down after just 5 mins. The pre match discussion had covered this possible scenario and to the APIA girls credit it didn’t faze them. They continued to play their football and consistently applied pressure towards the Canterbury goal allowing them to tie the score. Ties at half time and the run of play was in the APIA girls favour. The second half saw an outstanding clearance from Milly to keep Canterbury scoreless and some great attacks leading to goals for the girls.
A solid win result and a Grand Final birth awaits them.

U19 Maroon v Earlwood
Today the U19s went down to Earlwood. Our team has been decimated by injuries and sickness so we played with 10 and our GK out. We could not rally additional players so we could not compete. As per last week the team fought to the end, good heart and ultimately another frustrating result...

The ADP program was back at it, some teams competing in their final games for the year. With the sun shining most teams got on the pitch, as you’ll see in the match reports below

U9 v Concord U9s Division 2
Sadly we did not get the win. It was a rough performance, with the boys lacking focus and not performing to the level they’re capable of.
I see it as a valuable learning opportunity for the boys. We’ll address our concentration, intensity, and decision-making at training this week, and use the experience to help the players improve moving forward.

U10 v Enfield
Apia 10s vs Enfield win
Another great result once again over the weekend with the boys able to get the win and looking good in the final third, creating chances.

U10/2 v Strathfield
A tough game which we dominated in the first half with about 7 shots to 1 yet still managed to go down at half time. Getting caught on the counter and sometimes making the wrong decisions in the back three about when to go for the intercept vs when to mark the player and wait for help or, when to tackle and when to stay on your feet. All part of our football education and I think we'll be able to talk and and learn a lot from the game! The second half was less convincing with the same issues again, we pressed hard but we were wasteful in front of goal while they attacked on the counter and were clinical. Can't fault the boys for the effort they put in, just a tough game that we will bounce back from!

U12A v U12B
A good win for the U12A this afternoon. Playing on Lambert Park helped the team play their game, with the width and longer pitch compared to Algie. Good work from our defence to keep the attackers out and keep a clean sheet. Credit must go to their keeper for some great saves. Peter has definitely done a great job with the 12Bs 1 this season as they put up a great fight against our boys.

U13 v Hurlstone Park
A very hard fought game from both teams which ended in a draw.
A sneak preview of the prelim final in 3 weeks.

U13 v Inter lions U13 lost to Inter Lions. Boys played with good intensity and were in it for much of the match, but defensive errors were punished by Inter

U14 Maroon v Inter Lions
APIA U14 Maroon took on Inter Lions knowing a victory would secure the Minor Premiership—and the boys delivered in style.
The boys controlled the match from start to finish, playing with confidence, intensity and composure to seal an emphatic victory.

Minor Premiers. A fantastic achievement by the players and coaches, and a reward for a consistently outstanding season.

U14 v Marrickville
Today’s result was a draw, but after last week’s loss it was a much-improved performance from the boys. They responded really well, worked hard for each other, moved the ball with confidence, and applied plenty of pressure throughout the game.

U15/2 v Five Dock
Last match for 15/2s yesterday and the boys played really well first half holding back Five Dock (2nd on the ladder) - however lapse of focus saw us go down towards the end of first half.
Final score wasn’t what we hoped for after tight match. The boys were in good spirits and have enjoyed their season.

U16 v Five Dock

A great way to finish off the regular season for the boys with a comfortable win. The first half was tied but was a better start then past games of starting slow. Last 15 we controlled the tempo of the game and created more chances.
Second half was much better with more control of the tempo of the game and intensity making it hard for the other team to get into the game.

We would like to give a special shout out to our teams who have achieved minor premiers in their league this season. We are incredibly proud of them and wish them luck in their finals runs.
Small blurbs from each of the minor premiership teams are below:

U13 GEDP Maroon -
Congratulations to our U13 Maroon girls on securing the Minor Premiership with one round of the regular season remaining. It’s been an incredibly close and competitive season, with all three APIA teams in the division consistently challenging each other at the top of the table. We’re proud of the girls’ commitment, teamwork and growth throughout the year, and now look ahead to the challenge of the finals.

U14 GEDP Maroon -
A proud moment for our APIA GEDP U14 Maroon girls after a huge season:
⚽ State Cup semi-finalists 2026
⚽ Kanga Cup semi-finalists 2026
⚽ Minor Premiers with two rounds still to play

A brilliant run from a group that keeps competing, improving and showing up for one another. Still more football to come, but plenty to celebrate already.

U16 GEDP Maroon -
The APIA U16GEDP are having a tremendous season thus far and are really enjoying their football. The girls ability to take on feedback and apply what they have learned is encouraging from a management perspective. There are more challenges ahead for them all this season as we enter the finals period, and we are all looking forward to watching them finish the season strongly.

U14 Boys ADP -
As coach, I couldn't be prouder of what this team has achieved in securing the Minor Premiership. It has been a fantastic season, and this accomplishment is a just reward for the hard work, commitment, and dedication shown by every player and parent throughout the year. While we should take a moment to celebrate this achievement, our focus now shifts to the finals. We know there is still work to be done, and we will continue striving towards our ultimate goal of winning the Championship.

035/1 Mens -
The O35/1 Men’s have claimed back to back minor premierships in stylish fashion. We congratulate them for their success and wish them luck in their league finals and champions of champions run.
