Finals Week 5 Update - The Final Whistle ⚽

A massive battle to close out our season!
👏 AA/1: Heartbreak in the Grand Final with a tight 1-0 loss. It was a tough result to take on the day, but we couldn’t be prouder of the boys. Bringing home the Minor Premiership in such a tough, competitive division is a massive achievement across the season.

That brings our 2026 finals campaign to an official close. Huge thank you to all our players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters for an incredible season.

From hosting four Grand Finals at Arlington Oval to watching our U12 boys and girls take their very first run on the full-field, it was the perfect end to an amazing season of football.

A huge thank-you to all our players, parents, coaches, managers, and especially our hard-working committee for your energy, time, and passion all season long.

Can’t wait to celebrate with everyone at Presentation Day at King George Park on September 20th! 🌟

What an incredible afternoon at King George Oval. A pulsating 4–4 draw on the pitch was the perfect reflection of the spirit, energy, and heart that Keegan Ridings brought to Leichhardt Saints FC.

Days like this don’t just happen, they take a lot of effort behind the scenes.
A special thank you to Darren Mara, Keegan’s teammate, who first had the idea for this match and brought it to life. Massive thanks also to Kay for handling the administrative heavy lifting to get the match officially sanctioned, and to Zoe for running a brilliant canteen operation to keep everyone fed and hydrated - with all canteen profits being donated by the club directly in Keegan’s honor.
We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Frieda and the Canterbury Referees Association Referees, who so generously donated their time to officiate the game.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who bought a raffle ticket, grabbed a bite at the canteen, made a donation, packed the sidelines, or laced up their boots. You showed exactly what this club and community are all about.

We miss you, Keegan. Today was for you. ❤️

Our U7 Saints in action! ⚽️❤️🖤🤍

Watching this group grow in confidence, skill, and sheer love for the game has been incredible. This morning’s transition round gave players and families a taste of what’s ahead as they step up into Under 8s next year -
bigger fields, goalkeepers, and exciting new challenges!

A massive thank-you to Committee member Frieda for guiding our players (and parents!) through the rules before kickoff.

Shoutout to all six of our U7 squads -
Corellas, Magpies, Emus, Parrots, Lorikeets, and Kookaburras for bringing non-stop energy, heart, and smiles to the field every single week.

🏅 Meet Our July Players of the Month!

We're thrilled to recognise Sacha (U12/3 Girls) and Tyler (U10/5 Mixed) as our Leichhardt Saints FC Players of the Month for July.
Each month, we celebrate junior players (U8–U12) who go above and beyond in skill, attitude, and team spirit.

Both players will receive a framed certificate, Saints merchandise, and automatic nomination for the Gawain Lewis Junior Player of the Season award later this year! 🏆

Finals Week 4 Update – Two More Titles! 🏆

Another huge weekend of finals football for the Saints:
🏆 PREMIERS: AA/14A and O35W/2A! Two Grand Finals contested, two titles won. Brilliant work from both squads.

🥈 RUNNERS-UP: AA/14B! An all-Saints Grand Final decided by a Golden Goal, the second time these teams went to extra time in the finals. Enormous credit to the 14Bs for the season they've had.

⏭️ ONE TO GO: Our AA/1s take the pitch next Saturday for the club's final Grand Final of the 2026 season. Get along to the game and make some noise.
