📣 WHITEMORE-HAGLEY STATION LANE 48.2km GMS THIS SUNDAY 10AM
We’re racing this Sunday at Whitemore, taking on 2 laps of the Hagley Station Lane circuit. This was a brilliant race last season when we held a handicap on the same course 🚀
The race starts in Whitemore travelling north and turning left onto Meander Valley Road, left onto Hagley Station Lane, left onto Black Hills Road, around the corner to the right and turning left to stay on Black Hills Road, before a final left onto Whitemore Road to cross the finish line for the first time. The race finishes on the same long, slight up hill on the outskirts of Whitemore after lap 2.
Entries are open now on entry boss:

RAILTON SUPERVETS CYCLE RACE – new series - Race 1 – 3.9.2026
Online Entry now available on Entryboss – see link below.
NVCC are proud to support the 2026 series of Supervets races for our more mature vet riders, initiated by our own Supervet Tim Burford with the assistance of long-term vet rider Pete Dadson.
Tim’s idea was to provide a handicap race for males 60 and over, and for females 45 and over, to be run as an additional NVCC race on the calendar, midweek, once per month, on a circuit at Railton.
We will conduct 4 races in this 2026 series. The first 3 will be at Railton on the first Thursday of September, October, and November. The final race will be in mid-December at Hagley as part of the NVCC final race of the year. Prizemoney will be awarded to placegetters in each race; plus overall series placings will be determined for all 4 races with successful Supervet riders presented after the final race.
We invite all riders that meet the entry age and licence criteria to come and compete in race 1 of our 2026 series, weather permitting, on Thursday 3rd September at 10am, completing 3 laps of a 15km circuit starting in Railton opposite the toilet block on Kimberley Road. The race will finish at a safe location on Native Plains Road, close to the return to Railton.
Entry is online at Entryboss – See link below. Please enter early so we can confirm starting handicaps before race day. All riders must have a current AusCycling licence.
https://entryboss.cc/races/31807
If you are age qualified for this race, then come and support Tim and his helpers for a competitive ride in a fun and friendly environment – and please stay after for a coffee and debrief at the Limestone Café in Railton.
See link below for course map:

Please come and support this race if you can as its continuation will depend on having sufficient entries. At our last race it was great to see some familiar faces who hadn’t raced for a while, along with our regular riders who have achieved Supervet status.
We look forward to seeing new and returning riders at Railton on September 3rd.
Regards, Tim and Pete.

🏁 CARRICK - WHITEMORE - OAKS 47km GMS RESULTS AND PHOTOS 📸
A great turn out and a brilliant morning of racing at Carrick on a new course for NVCC.
While it was a new course it feels very similar to the the Oaks Road - Liffey Road - Bishopsbourne Road circuit, just with a few more lumps towards the finish.
With an moderate east-south-east to south easterly wind, there was little tailwind to be found on the course, with only the very short stretch on Meander Valley Road providing a break from the near constant headwind.
The conditions, combined with the relatively flat course, made it difficult to get away. The attacks still came thick and fast, up any small incline, down any small descent and out of every corner but in the end, there was no getting away and the race would come down to the final kilometre to determine who would win.
In A Grade, Peter Jeffers was rewarded for attacking with 800 metres to go, finishing in 1st place 2 seconds ahead of Andrew Daly.
In B Grade Sam Pratt showed composure in the final 200 metres, coming off the wheel of Darren Turner to cross the line in 1st place, 3 bike lengths clear of Darren in 2nd.
In C Grade Emily Walker launched her sprint from the 200 to go mark to put daylight between herself and the rest of the field, eventually crossing the line just 1 second ahead of Grant Maken, who secured 2nd place in a neck and neck sprint with Stef Shearer.
In D Grade Suze Hodgins secured victory in her first race back after a long time away from racing with a well timed effort to close and pass Melissa Snadden in the final 100 metres.
In E Grade Garry Cooper showed that he is back in top form, finishing in 1st place after riding away from E Grade and powering all the way to the line.
In F Grade Leigh Pridmore waited until the final 300 metres to move clear of Gerry Fraser and Jessie Lockhart, taking the win by a couple of seconds.
🙌🏼 It was a pleasure to see Suze Hodgins back racing and we were also pleased to welcome new rider Jessie Lockhart for his first race.
🤝🏼 Good work by all of the race day team including Peter Dadson, Kathryn Woolston, Laurie McKeon, Leigh Pridmore and Ricky Allen.
