On August 22, 2026, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, video circulated showing certified lifeguard and trainer Walid Al-Otaibi (وليد العتيبي) rescuing a young boy who was drowning mere feet from what appears to be his family. Al-Otaibi is reportedly a certified rescuer associated with Jeddah Municipality’s coastal monitoring and protection organization and has previously been hailed as a hero in performance of his duties.
