Exciting news - the Hobart Hurricanes are pleased to announce registrations are now open for our Launceston Hurricanes Court Smash competition!

A fast-paced, social cricket competition played indoors, for all skill levels. It’s the perfect way to stay active, have fun, and connect with others. The format is simple:
- 5 Players on the court at once
- 50 minute games
- 75 balls per innings (each player bowls 15 balls and faces 15 balls)
- Soft balls are used so there's no protective equipment required
- All equipment provided

📍 UniGym Launceston Campus, Newnham
📅 Starting Monday 22nd June (4-week competition) with game times being 5pm, 5.50pm and 6.40pm

Grab your mates and get involved in a fun, fast-paced and social cricket experience.

✅ One-off registration fee: $36 per player
✅ Simple sign-up process via PlayHQ.

Cricket Tasmania and Cricket Australia are partnering to provide clubs, associations, schools, councils and cricket facility managers with the opportunity to apply for funding for cricket facility projects.
The Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund for 2025/26 is now open and closes at midnight 27 March 2025.

Congratulations to Launceston Cricket Club on claiming the Greater Northern Cup premiership, defeating Mowbray last Sunday at Invermay Park.

Batting first, Launceston posted 9/201, with Dilan Sandagirigoda (58) and captain Will Bennett (59 not out)* leading the way with the bat. For Mowbray, Jensen Smith was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with 3/30 from his 10 overs.

In reply, an exceptional spell from Tom Gray (3/14) put Launceston in a commanding position, reducing Mowbray to 7/76. A late fightback from Drew Clark (42) and Brock Whitchurch (37) kept the Eagles in the contest, but Mowbray were eventually bowled out for 140 in the 43rd over.

The result sealed a 61-run victory for Launceston, crowning them Greater Northern Cup One Day premiers for the 2025–26 season, with Launceston captain Will Bennett named Man of the Match.
