🚨 VOLUNTEERS IMPORTANT REMINDER 🚨

At South Launceston Little Athletics Centre, the safety of our athletes is our top priority. 💛

Little Athletics relies on every family pitching in and helping on the day, whether that is raking a long jump pit, measuring a throw, assisting in the canteen, cooking a BBQ or helping with one of the many other jobs around the track.

Every volunteer MUST hold a valid Registration to Work with Vulnerable People card and have it verified by SLLAC before volunteering.

This includes
✔ Committee members
✔ Officials
✔ Track and field helpers
✔ Canteen volunteers
✔ BBQ volunteers

Registration is free and helps ensure a safe and secure environment for all our athletes.

🎟️ TICKET TO PLAY

Ticket to Play can be used towards your Little Athletics registration.

Ticket to Play is a Tasmanian Government initiative designed to help reduce the cost of sport and active recreation for eligible children.

Eligible children aged 5 to 18 years can receive two vouchers worth up to $100 each towards club membership or registration fees.

To be eligible, children must be listed on a Services Australia Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or be in Out of Home Care.

Both vouchers can be used with one activity provider, or split between two different providers.

If you are eligible, make sure you take advantage of Ticket to Play when registering for the 2026/27 SLLAC season. 🔴🔵⚪

FREE TRIAL

Athletes who are new to Little Athletics can participate in two meets as a free trial before registering.

This option is only available to athletes who have not previously registered for Little Athletics.

COME AND TRY DAY

Little Athletics Tasmania is holding a free Come and Try Day for anyone new to Little Athletics.

📅 Sunday 13 September
⏰ 1pm to 3pm
📍 Northern Athletics Centre, St Leonards

Registration is required for the Come and Try Day.

Looking for a fun and active sport for your child to try? Little Athletics Tasmania is hosting a FREE Come & Try Day in Launceston

📍 Launceston: Sunday 13 September 2026, 1pm–3pm
📍 Location: Northern Athletics Centre

It’s a great opportunity for children to experience Little Athletics in a fun, friendly and welcoming environment.

🇦🇺 AUSTRALIAN REPRESENTATIVES 🇦🇺

South Launceston Little Athletics Centre would like to congratulate Xavier Davie and Izzy Wing on their selection to represent Australia at the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

A special congratulations to our own Xavier Davie, who has been selected in the Decathlon, and to Izzy Wing from North Launceston Little Athletics Club on her Australian selection.

We would also like to congratulate coach Luke Sulzberger, whose dedication, knowledge and commitment have helped athletes reach the world stage. To have athletes you have coached earn Australian selection is a remarkable achievement and one that reflects the countless hours invested both on and off the track.

To have two athletes from Northern Tasmania representing Australia on the world stage is an incredible achievement and a testament to their hard work, dedication and the support of their coaches, families and clubs.

We wish Xavier and Izzy all the very best as they take on the world’s best junior athletes. We’ll all be cheering you on from home! 💚💛
