It is with great regret that we advise of the passing on Peter Gourlay.
Peter was involved in the sport for over 40 years, both as a competitor and tournament director. It was because of Peter's vision and drive that we saw the very successful Hobart Cup get up and running in 1981. Peter represented Tasmanian 4 times in the Rachuig team, he won the 1981 Hobart Cup, helped establish the Tasmanian Tenpin Tournament Club, won the 1983 Hobart Masters, represented Tasmania in the 1994 ATBSO Open Team and the 2014 ATBSO Restricted Team.
He was a Past President of the Hobart Junior Tenpin Bowling Association and also penned a very popular weekly tenpin bowling article in Hobart's Saturday Evening Mercury for many years.
Peter was inducted in to the Tasmanian Hall of Fame in 2015.
Our sincere condolences to Peter's family.
