Riverside Cricket Club is pleased to announce our coaching structure for season 2026/27.
Former first-grade captain Tom Garwood returns to the Blues as our first and second grade coach, while Matt Green joins the club to take on the third and fourth grade role.
Garwood has had a successful playing career at Riverside, playing 183 first-grade games, and now steps into the coaching space, aligning with his off-field passions.
Green joins us after a long and successful career at Hadspen, while also being our junior development officer and a junior coach for several seasons.
Returning in their roles will be Sophie Parkin (women’s coach), Matt Geeves (coaching director), Roger Brown (specialist bowling coach) and Cooper Anthes (assistant coach - first and second grade), who we thank for their continued involvement.
Sophie is now a two-time premiership-winning coach, who has come through our junior system to be one of our best women’s cricketers, while Geevesy is one of a few coaches in Tasmania that boasts a level-three coaching qualification.
Browny is in his fifth year at the club and is one of the most respected bowling coaches in Tasmania after an impressive playing career for the state.
Cooper has found a passion for coaching in recent years alongside his playing duties, which have seen him play Tasmanian second XI as well as star for the Greater Northern Raiders at a CTPL level.
