It was wonderful to be in Beckenham last night for the BDWest Badminton Club annual dinner and awards night.
Huge congratulations to all the players, coaches, volunteers and families who make this such a welcoming club – from kids learning the game through to adults at the social sessions.
BDWest is a great example of how a local club can bring the community together, build confidence and keep people active.
Thank you to the BDWest committee for the invitation and to Gosnells Councillor Saiful Islam for introducing me to the club.

What an incredible night for BDWest Club! Our annual prize-giving ceremony was a huge success, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who made it special.
We were honoured to welcome the Gosnells Councillor and the Cannington MLA, whose presence meant a lot to our community. A massive thank you to our sponsors for their continuous support — events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without you.
Our BDWest members showed up in full force with their families, filling the venue with energy and positivity. The raffle draws, music performances, and the amazing food made the evening even better.

🏸 Exciting News! Our Kids' Badminton Program Kicks Off! 🏸

We had an amazing first session with our young athletes today! 🌟 The kids had a blast learning the basics of badminton, from how to grip their rackets to hitting shuttlecocks and having fun with simple games! 🏅

Who else is hyped about the badminton tournament this Saturday! 🤩 It's going to be epic seeing all the crazy smashes and rallies. 🏸 We can't wait to see who takes home the trophy this year. 🏆 Join us and show your support for the team you're rooting for!
