🏑 SENIOR PRELIMINARY FINALS – THIS WEEKEND! 🏑

Do or die time! A win books a Grand Final spot next weekend, a loss ends the season. Come down to Gold Coast Hockey Centre and enjoy some knockout hockey in your community.

⭐ Div 2 Men

Must beat Labrador Black to set up a grand final rematch against Roosters. Their four meetings this season have produced 34 goals combined, so expect goals at both ends. Chris Reid, Kevin O’Kane and Dutch import Raemon “Rhino” Tijsseling lead the line, while new dad Samuel Hart will need a good night’s sleep to shut down Labrador’s young guns.

⭐ Div 2 Blue Women

After a tough 1-0 loss to Labrador Gold last week, captain Danni Gillham and the girls face Labrador Black this Sunday looking to set the record straight. Watch for Chelsea Holden, Micaela Piacenza and Kodie Kutyn.

⭐ Div 3 Men

Round robin winners but fell 3-0 in the Major Semi. Now it’s do or die against Capri on Saturday. Paul Du Plessis, with 26 goals this season, will be key at corner time.

⭐ Div 3 Blue Women

Third after the round robin, they knocked out Labrador Black last week and now face Labrador Gold for a shot at the Grand Final. Samantha Vinen and Julie Mulligan lead the goal-scoring.

🏑 JUNIOR GRAND FINALS – THIS WEEKEND! 🏑

⭐ Open Boys

Fourth seeds, but you wouldn’t know it — our Open Boys have knocked out both Labrador teams to reach the Grand Final. Last week’s nail-biter had four goals, four yellow cards, a 10-minute yellow card, a red card, and a sudden-death shootout, sealed by keeper Tristan McDonald. 🧤

This Friday night, under the lights, they face table-topping Mudgeeraba, with a number of our key players out through injury and suspension. Despite the ladder gap, Burleigh have won their last three meetings — underdogs on paper, but captain Thomas Haysom will lead the charge. 💪

⭐ U14 Boys

Saturday: 2nd-placed Burleigh vs 1st-placed Labrador Gold in the Grand Final. We’ve lost all five meetings this season, so it’s time to turn the tide! Keep an eye on rising star Philip Bruese — 31 goals in 13 games. 🔥

⭐ U14 Girls

Favourites for Saturday’s Grand Final against Labrador after topping the round robin with only two losses all year. Burleigh have beaten Labrador four times this season, registering three clean sheets in the process. Top goal scorers Alysha Miller and Brooke Docherty will be key. ⚽

⭐ U12 White

Another 1st vs 2nd decider vs Labrador Gold — our youngest athletes get their first taste of Grand Final hockey. Come support them! 🙌

Our senior teams have come out firing in Finals Week One, with three teams booking their spot in the Grand Final and four more still fighting for their chance at the big dance!

🏑 Division 1 Women — GRAND FINAL BOUND! 💥
A huge performance sees our Div 1 Women secure their place in the GF and earn themselves a well-deserved weekend off to prepare for the biggest game of the season. 👏🔥 And what better way to celebrate than with Tammin finding the back of the net THREE times to score a brilliant hat-trick! 🏑🔥

It was the perfect way for Tammin to finish her time with Burleigh as she heads to Townsville to join the police. 💙🤍 We couldn’t have asked for a better send-off — a Grand Final spot and a hat-trick! Tam, we wish you all the very best for this exciting new chapter. You’ll always be part of the Burleigh family! 🫶

🏑 Division 1 Men — GRAND FINAL BOUND! 💪🔥
Despite trailing by a goal heading into the final quarter, our Div 1 Men beat Labrador by a score of 3 goals to 2. Nicolaas Smith proved a welcome return to the line up, converting two of his drag flicks. Troy Cooper scored the winning goal by finishing off a smooth team move. No team photo this week, but we’re certainly not letting that stop us from celebrating them! 👏🏆

They’ve done it too! Our Div 4 Women have punched their ticket to the Grand Final and can enjoy a week off to prepare for the big dance. 💙🤍

Our Div 2 Blue Women take the field next weekend with one final chance to book their place in the Grand Final.

Such an amazing bunch of kids. Lots of keen hockey players for the future! The Joeys have had an awesome year and have all come so far.

Legends vs Joeys was a great success on the turf in the afternoon ☀️.

Thank you to all our volunteers, supporters and to all the incredible superheroes that came down to play a game with our little ones last week. It was truly beautiful to see and such an awesome way to wrap up Joeys for the year 💙🩵.

Our U14 Girls are heading into the 2026 finals series on top of the ladder 🪜.

Despite the 3-1 loss on Saturday, they are pumped and ready to win! 🏆

Our legendary Hockey Burleigh Grand Final Party Night is heading to the Clock Hotel Surfers Paradise this year.
From 9pm until 1am we have our own reserved room.
This is a ticketed event at $70 and includes food, beer, wine and standard spirits. (Until our tab runs out)
Sat 5th Sept straight after the completion of the games. Any minors in attendance will need to leave the venue at 10pm.

What an incredible week for our young Burleigh stars! 💙🏑

Six of our Burleigh girls and five of our Burleigh boys proudly represented their schools and South Coast at the Under 12 Schools State Hockey Championships.

Our girls showed fantastic determination throughout the tournament, finishing 6th in a very strong field after fighting hard in every match.

Our boys made it all the way to the bronze medal match. After an exciting draw at full time, the game went to a shootout where they were narrowly defeated. A heartbreaking result, but an outstanding tournament to be proud of.

A special congratulations to Brax, who captained the boys’ team throughout the championships, and to Brax and Zoe, who were both selected in the Queensland Under 12 School Team. They will travel to Newcastle in late October to proudly represent Queensland.

We are incredibly proud of all 11 Burleigh players. Your hard work, sportsmanship and dedication have shone through all week. Congratulations to you all, and best of luck to Brax and Zoe as they prepare to wear the maroon! 🏑
