We're back at Bunbury Speedway this weekend to see if we can improve on our fourth place finishing last year π
π ππππππππ ππππππππ!
This weekend marks the only event where Speedcars will race at Bunbury Speedway, and with a solid nomination list set to compete for the first time on a brand new track surface, it shapes as a genuine Bullring Showdown, proudly presented by Asphalt Recyclers Australia.
Heading the nominations list is newly crowned Triple Crown Series winner Jake Robinson (Robinson Motorsport), who comes into the show fresh off three consecutive podium finishes. It has, however, been a while since Robinson last stood on the top step of the podium, but with plenty of confidence behind him, this weekend could well see that change.
Of course, Robinson will be under pressure by a good field of his peers, with Keenan Fleming (Fleming Motorsport) the only driver in the field to have won a feature race this season, albeit in Victoria. That guarantees a first time WA winner this weekend. Fleming endured a tough run at the last show and will be hoping to put those gremlins behind him in his quest for the win.
Coincidentally, Fleming and Robinson are the only two drivers in this weekendβs field who have finished on the podium in a WA race this season, meaning the door is wide open for the rest of the field to step up.
Not only is there no driver in the field this weekend who has won a feature in WA this season, but there is also no one hitting the track who finished on the podium last time the Speedcars visited Bunbury. In November 2024, Tom Payet claimed the win from Cody Nash and Nicholas Rowe, but with none of them nominated, a brand new Bunbury podium is guaranteed.
The best of the rest in that show was Chris Dymock (Dymock Motorsport) who came home fourth, and coincidentally Dymock arrives this weekend fresh off another fourth place in the New Year Speedcar Derby after briefly running in a podium position. Dymock has plenty of experience at Bunbury and will relish the opportunity to compete there.
Alfie Guadagnino (Guadagnino Racing Team - GRT) and Lachlan Marshall (Marshall Racing) come into the show full of confidence after finishing on the podium of the Esslinger Triple Crown, while at the opposite end of the scale, Beau Doyle (Beau Doyle Motorsport) and Joel Watson (Marshall Racing) have plenty of work to do after some big crashes last weekend and will be working hard just to make the show.
Add in names like Vaughan Manders who has shown plenty of speed but just hasnβt been able to convert it into a podium result, Justin Felton and Gary Mann who have been recording some consistent finishes and William Douglas (Douglas Motorsport) who has also had some up and down results amongst others, and we have a great field set for the π¨ππππππ πΉππππππππ π¨ππππππππ π©πππππππ πΊππππ

A solid fourth place result in the overall Triple Crown series βοΈ
ROBINSON IS TRIPLE CROWN CHAMPION!
After a hectic three nights of action, Jake Robinson (Robinson Motorsport) has officially been declared the winner of the 2025/26 Esslinger Engineering Speedcar Triple Crown!
Robinson was class throughout the whole series, recording a third at the Boxing Day show followed by a second at the High Limit International and wrapping it up last weekend with another third in the New Year Speedcar Derby.
This gave him three podiums from the three rounds, a total of 434 points and defeating second placed Alfonso Guadagnino (Guadagnino Racing Team - GRT) by twenty-four points.
Alfie grabbed a sixth and two seventh placed finishes, his consistency being rewarded with second overall, while third place was rookie driver Lachlan Marshall (Marshall Racing) who grabbed a fifth and two eighth place finishes to be just two points behind Guadagnino.
Chris Dymock (Dymock Motorsport) (ninth, DNF and fourth) and Beau Doyle (Beau Doyle Motorsport) (seventh, sixth and DNF) were tied on points to round out the top five.
In total, twenty three different drivers contested the series with the opening two round wins going to Kaidon Brown (Kaidon Brown Racing), while the final round was taken out by Nicholas Rowe.
Robinson was on the podium in all three shows, with Brown and American visitor Jake Andreotti (Jake Andreotti Racing) making two top three appearances each, while Rowe and Tom Payet were in the top three once each.
With this yearβs results taken into account, Kaiden Manders still has the most Triple Crown feature race victories with five followed by Payet with three, while in regard to podiums, Payet is now the outright leader with eight, followed by Manders with seven while Rowe and Andreotti are tied for third with four apiece.
