⚽ 2027 ACADEMY PLAYERS | EXPRESSION OF INTEREST ⚽

Are you ready to be part of the next chapter at Maroochydore Football Club?

2027 presents an exciting opportunity for players to be part of the continued development of our MFC Academy pathway.

We are now inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from external players interested in joining our potential FQ Academy teams for 2027.

🦢 IMPORTANT — CURRENT MFC PLAYERS

This EOI is primarily for players who are not currently involved with MFC and are interested in joining our Academy program.

👉 Current MFC players do NOT need to complete this EOI.
Players currently within our MFC program have already been included in our internal assessment/audit process and will receive information regarding retention, retrial and trial opportunities directly from the club.

⚽ WHERE WE ARE AT

As of 21 September 2026:

✅ MFC has successfully completed the Football Queensland assessment process and received our Club Shield — Development Committed

⏳ MFC has not yet been offered an FQ Academy Licence

⏳ Football Queensland is still finalising competition requirements

📢 We are awaiting the Declaration of Leagues

Therefore, Academy participation for 2027 is still to be confirmed.

⚠️ Please note:

• Academy places will be limited
• Some age groups are already complete
• Trials will be invite only
• Trial dates and times are still being finalised and are expected to be mid-October
• Successful players offered a position will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit

Junior Boys: U9–U12
Junior Girls: U11–U12
Youth Boys: U13–U17
Youth Girls: U13–U16 & U18

Information regarding 2027 Division 1 Community trials will be released separately shortly.

🏆 FQ DEVELOPMENT COMMITTED CLUB SHIELD 🩵

We are incredibly proud to announce that Maroochydore Football Club has successfully completed the Football Queensland audit process for FQA acceptance and has been awarded official Tier 2 status “Development Committed” for 2027. ⚽

The feedback from Football Queensland was excellent, with MFC commended on our first submission and the work that has gone into establishing our development framework.

This is an important milestone for our club and reflects the commitment of our Football Department, coaches, players, volunteers and members to creating a genuine player development pathway at Maroochydore.

🦢 WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Tier 2 “Development Committed” status does not guarantee a place in the FQA leagues. We now await the allocation process and confirmation of where MFC will play in addition to Sunshine Coast Community Football in 2027.

📅 The coming weeks:

1️⃣ Coming days — 2027 Expressions of Interest open
2️⃣ Coming weeks — Retention/retrial letters sent to current MFC players
3️⃣ Coming weeks — FQA league declarations, confirming where we will play
4️⃣ Coming weeks — Academy & Division 1 Community trials commence
⚠️ FQA trials must be completed by 2 November

Players and families will receive further information as dates and times are confirmed.

⚽ A GENUINE DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY

Our goal is to provide players with a clear pathway to continue developing at MFC, while also supporting players where opportunities at a higher-level academy may better suit their individual development.

If a player is identified as having the potential to benefit from progressing to a higher-level academy, our Football Department will work with the player and family to help facilitate that process.

Most importantly, player development remains at the centre of what we are building.

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to getting MFC to this point. This is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our club. 🩵

Looking for something exciting to keep the kids active these school holidays? Our Spring Academy Football Clinic is the perfect opportunity to learn, develop and have plenty of fun along the way!

Open to players aged 6–16, boys and girls, from Maroochydore FC or ANY club! 🙌

Whether your child is just starting out or looking to take their game to the next level, our experienced coaches will create a fun, supportive environment focused on development, confidence and enjoyment.
