Great morning for VRC in the Friday morning finals. Runnersup to Westerfolds in grade 1 and defeating Mulgrave in grade 2. VRC were also awarded the Pat Goodieson trophy for the best club for the season.
19/06/2026
The Friday morning competition started in the 1970's as a ladies morning competition with a free creche. In the 1990's men were allowed to join the competiotion. This has been a great competition for many years with the lunch being as important as the squash. Many factors have impacted the decline of this comp- no creche, women returning to work and lack of centres. This morning the final matches were played with great squash and commaraddery. Westerfolds defeated VRC in grade 1 and VRC defeated Mulgrave in grade 2.
This competition will be replaced with a road show type format where all matches each week will be played at the same venue. Also no need for a whole team from the same club. So anyone who is looking for a friendly but competative match each week this is for you!!
Start date is Friday 17th July 9.30am at vrc. Register your interest through contacting [email protected]

We had a great weekend at the Victorian Racket Club for the Victorian Open Racquetball Champs.
In the open singles final Cam White proved too strong for Alex Baines (who had a bruising 3 setter with past winner Ryan McCarter in the semi).
The open doubles event on the Sunday was won by Darren O'Donnell and Troy Anwyl.
Thanks to everyone that participated - players and volunteers. See you next year!

Another great weekend of squash at the Mountain District tournament. Big thanks to James from VRC for hosting us again. This tournament would not be so great without all the helpers from the Club. The set up crew, canteen early morning refs and general helpers. We are abley lead by our great President Lao. Thanks also go to the referee that were there all weekend to help to ref the open matches and any others we needed. Thanks Kristie, Darren and David. The tournament would not be so great without the players. This year there were 116 of them! So thanks to them.A couple of match ups need to be noted, in Div 6 we had an 8 year old playing against 80 year olds. This truly is a sport for all ages.
Next year is our 60th so look out for a big one.
