Knox Athletics Club

We were saddened to hear of Margaret Toohey's passing this week. Margaret and Bill were very important parts of our club for so many years and members past and current pass their love and support to their family.
The following is a message from their daughter, Cathrine.

Former Knox Athletics club member and official Margaret Toohey passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday 5th August 2026.

A funeral service for Margaret Toohey will be held on Thursday 20th August 2026 at 10am at Heritage & Heritage, 733 Boronia Rd Wantirna.

This will be followed by gathering at Knox Park Athletics track, Bunjil Way, Knoxfield.

Congratulations to two very talented ladies with strong Knox AC connections, from all of us here, following their events this morning.

'Supermum' Brooke Buschkuehl (nee Stratton) on her Long Jump bronze was a long time club member from her junior and early senior days.

Fantastic to see everyone's hard work paying off, you are both inspirations to those that look up to you.

We were saddened to hear last night of Jemma's sudden passing.

A familiar face training at Knox in recent times, Jemma ran for .little.aths before a senior hurdling career and then great success in professional sprinting.

Jemma's father, brothers and partner all ran for Knox. Only a few weeks ago she made arrangements to sprint and hurdle back at Knox, with a further desire to commence coaching in the future.

Her bright nature and smiling face will be missed by all who knew her. The club extends its condolences to Lisa, Darren, Trent, Joel and Tyler.
