πŸ†βš½ 90 MINUTES. 15 ROVERS. ONE GRAND FINAL EPIC. πŸ’šπŸ€

Saturday afternoon. Jamison Park Synthetics. Grand Final stage. U16 Boys Div 2. Rovers v Colo FC.

Coach Rick and Manager Ben were back at the helm for their second consecutive Grand Final, but nobody could have scripted what came next.

This wasn’t 70 minutes of football. This became a 90-minute football marathon, complete with extra time, tired legs, cramping calves and 15 young men who simply refused to stop.

Jy stood between the posts as the last guardian of the Rovers kingdom. In front of him, Mitch was building a defensive fortress with Luca and Zack alongside him, throwing bodies into challenges and shutting doors faster than Colo could knock.

Then there was Chase, absolutely on the case in midfield. Pulling strings, winning battles and producing enough midfield mastery to have his older brother checking over his shoulder. Watch out Smallie, there might be a new contender coming for that Waratah spot!

Further forward, Reece, Rajveer, Sam and Jono kept pouring on the pressure, giving the Colo defence absolutely no peace.

But naming individuals almost misses the point.

Because this was about FIFTEEN young men.

Fifteen Rovers who emptied the tank, found another tank, emptied that one too and somehow kept going.

The scoreboard remained locked. Regulation time couldn’t separate them. Extra time became a battle of survival as bodies tired, muscles cramped and every tackle, clearance and run carried the weight of a season.

Then, with just two minutes remaining, football delivered its cruelest chapter.

Colo broke through. Two attackers against Jy. He stood tall and gave everything, but Colo found the back of the net.

1-0.

Heartbreak.

The trophy may not carry the Rovers name this year, but this team wrote something far bigger than a scoreline - Rovers History!

Congratulations to Colo FC on a fantastic contest and victory.

And to our boys, keep those heads HIGH.

You didn’t just play a Grand Final.
You gave the Green and White a match for future generations.

πŸ’šπŸ€ MORE THAN JUST A FOOTBALL CLUB. πŸ€πŸ’š

This one hits home. πŸ€βš½

For us, Penrith Rovers Football Club has never just been about the 90 minutes, the scoreboard or where we finish on the ladder.

It’s the first pair of boots.
The first time pulling on the Green & White.
The friendships made on the sideline.
The volunteers who become family.
The wins we celebrate together and the losses we somehow turn into stories worth retelling.

From MiniRoos taking their first kick to senior players chasing Grand Final glory, this is our home, our community and our Rovers family.

We’re incredibly proud to have O'Neills Sportswear alongside us, a partner that understands grassroots football isn’t simply something you play.

It’s something you belong to. πŸ’šπŸ€

Built on culture.
Driven by family.
Worn with pride.
Made for memories that last long after the final whistle. πŸ€

Thanks to O’Neills for capturing what the Green & White means to so many of us.

Penrith Rovers FC. More than a club. It’s a way of life.πŸ€βš½οΈ

πŸ“Ίβš½ O35 DIV 2 | THE ONE WHERE THE ROVERS WENT TO A GRAND FINAL βš½οΈπŸ†

If this season was a 90s sitcom, this was the finale where everyone gathers around the TV, the plot goes completely sideways and nobody gets the ending they ordered.

Rovers v Glenmore Park. Grand Final. Let the episode begin.

Early on, a high foot inside the Rovers box gave Glenmore an indirect free kick. Rovers built the wall, Glenmore found the one available postcode between it and buried it.

1-0 Glenmore.

Up front, Steve was making himself about as welcome as a telemarketer at dinner, constantly pressuring the Glenmore keeper.

Then Swin whipped one across the 18-yard box to Mark, who needed no second invitation…
BANG! GOAL! 1-1!

Not long after, Steve was through 1v1. The keeper came charging out and…

BANG!

Steve got cleaned up, the Rovers crowd erupted, and suddenly the referee discovered pace nobody knew he possessed. He bolted over and produced… yellow…!
The crowd had opinions. Several of them. Loudly.

Rovers kept coming. Steve floated a beauty across, Swin rose for the header and missed by a whisker. No goal, but the build-up was pure textbook football.

At the other end, Trent was having his own main-character episode between the sticks, producing two monster saves back-to-back.

And then there was Kurt, the Tactical Assassin.
Sliding across the synthetic, timing tackles beautifully and apparently unaware that astroturf normally removes three layers of skin.

Still locked at 1-1, they headed to EXTRA TIME.

Glenmore came out firing, worked a clever decoy, found the opening and tucked it away.

2-1 Glenmore…and that was the final plot twist.

Congratulations to Glenmore Park on the victory and one hell of a Grand Final-worthy match. Two teams threw everything at it and the crowd was absolutely entertained from opening whistle to the final credits.

For a brand-new Rovers team in 2026, making the Grand Final in season one is a pretty bloody impressive debut.

And word from the studio is…
We hear the producers are already writing Season Two… πŸ‘€πŸ˜‚

πŸ†βš½ O35 DIV 1 | GRAND FINAL HEARTBREAK… BUT THE STORY AIN’T OVER YET! πŸ’šπŸ€

Friday night. Jamison Park. Grand Final football.

The lights were on, Rovers and Wilberforce were ready, and somewhere nearby a chemist was preparing for a spike in Deep Heat, Voltaren and strapping tape sales.

O35 Grand Final football had arrived.

From the opening whistle it was a battle, although the referee seemed determined to make sure his whistle got as much game time as anyone.

Foul. PEEEP!
Restart. PEEEP!
Someone sneezed. Probably PEEEP!

By full-time, forget the players… someone get that bloke a ventilator!

Amongst all the noise, Eddie found Michael, who produced a cheeky little chip into the back of the net.

Wilberforce responded, including one from the penalty spot, before something happened nobody was prepared for…

Chad let TWO goals in. 😳

First time all year! Somewhere a goalkeeper coach dropped his coffee.

Scott Taylor picked up a yellow, while the game featured more dummy spits than a daycare centre before nap time.

Then Carlo decided to have a slide on the Jamison astroturf - The astroturf won.

Rastall got injured. Again. Although suspicions remain he spotted the beers on the sideline and suddenly required urgent treatment.

And then, in scenes nobody expected…

LUKE BOYD RETURNED FROM HOLIDAYS! πŸŒ΄πŸ˜‚

Boyda found his boots, remembered where Jamison Park was and put in a cracking performance. Nice of you to join us for the Grand Final, mate!

Through all the laughs, it was a genuine battle between two teams giving everything.

When the final whistle sounded, Wilberforce had earned the Grand Final victory. Congratulations on the win and thanks for bringing a contest worthy of the occasion.

For our boys, it hurts. But what a season.

πŸ† 2026 PREMIERS.
⚽ GRAND FINALISTS.
πŸ’šπŸ€ And they’re not finished yet.

The boots stay out, the strapping tape gets reordered, Rastall can finish his beer and Boyda is banned from booking another holiday…

Because another battle awaits.

πŸ†πŸ€ TWO GRAND FINALS. ONE MASSIVE FRIDAY NIGHT. πŸ€πŸ†

We’ve spent the week introducing the teams, telling the stories and giving the knees, hammies and Deep Heat budget the attention they deserve… πŸ˜‚

Now it’s GAME DAY. ⚽πŸ”₯

Tonight, TWO Rovers teams pull on the Green & White at Jamison Park with one goal in mind…

πŸ† BRING. IT. HOME. πŸ†

⚽ O35 Div 1 vs Wilberforce FC
πŸ“ Jamison Park | Field 6
⏰ 8:00pm
πŸ”₯ Chasing a THIRD Grand Final victory!

⚽ O35 Div 2 vs Glenmore Park FC
πŸ“ Jamison Park | Field 7
⏰ 8:00pm
πŸ”₯ New team. First season. One massive game left.

Two fields. Same kick-off. Twice the Rovers.

And probably enough strapping tape and Deep Heat between them to trigger an environmental assessment. πŸ˜‚πŸ©Ή

Tonight we need the Rovers Army out in force!

πŸ’š Wear the Green & White.
πŸ“£ Pack the sidelines.
πŸ‘ Bring the noise.
πŸ€ Back the boys.

Whatever happens when that whistle blows, both squads have given us plenty to be proud of this season.

But there’s still some business to finish… πŸ‘€πŸ†
