KILSYTH MEMORIAL HALL

The Kilsyth Memorial Hall, on Mount Dandenong Road, was officially opened 7th August 1954. The Kilsyth community decided to build a memorial hall to honour the soldiers who served their country in war and also provide a practical facility for the local community.

KILSYTH ROLL OF HONOUR

The unveiling of an updated Kilsyth Roll of Honour occurred on Sunday, 16th August 2026 at the Japara Living and Learning Centre Kilsyth and a video of the event can be viewed at the link below. Special thanks to Mike O'Meara and the Kilsyth Action Group and the Lilydale RSL for organising the event. Mike talks about the updating of the Roll of Honour.

WAR MEMORIAL AT PINKS RESERVE

It is over 100 years since the end of World War 1 and so it is very pleasing to see that the Kilsyth community at last has its own War Memorial to recognise those Kilsyth residents who made the ultimate sacrifice when serving their country. The memorial was recently established at Pinks Reserve.

There is also an Honour Board at the Japara Living and Learning Centre in Kilsyth which lists all those from Kilsyth who have served during war time (please see photo attached). The Roll of Honour was recently updated and was previously held at the Kilsyth Hall. There are quite a few Kilsyth CC former players listed on the Kilsyth Roll of Honour including KCC Hall Of Fame Members Roy Baldwin, Jeff Baldwin and Reg Gibson. Reg's father, Joseph Lobb Gibson died of war wounds in WW1 and is listed on the memorial at Pinks Reserve.
