Crikey! What a season it’s been for the Champion Lakes Cricket Club OD-F lads!

From absolute belters with the bat to ripping spells with the ball, the boys have been putting on a proper cricket show week in, week out. And now… we’re off to the BIG DANCE – the GRAND FINAL!💪

The road here hasn’t been a walk in the park either:

💥 A monster 257-run smackdown against Hilton Bicton Cricket Club – the boys were seeing them like watermelons that day!
💥 Another ripper with 238 against North Baldivis Cricket Club – runs flowing like a Sunday BBQ esky.
💥 A heart-stopper 1-run win over Cockburn Cricket Club – blink, and you’d have missed it!
💥 A gutsy 2-wicket chase against Riverton Rostrata Cricket Club, showing the boys have nerves of steel.

Then came the Semi-Final, and fair dinkum it was a cracker:

Champion Lakes Cricket Club is proud to announce that our One Day F Grade team has progressed to the Grand Final this weekend against Riverton. This achievement reflects the team’s hard work, dedication, and commitment throughout the season.

A huge congratulations to the entire squad for reaching this milestone. The club wishes the team the very best of luck for the Grand Final and hopes to see them bring the flag home for Champion Lakes.

Weekend Wrap 🏏

Fantastic result for ODF who proved they are one of the best teams in their grade. After winning the semi-final, they have secured their place in the Grand Final, now just one step away from bringing the flag home for the club.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, ODF posted a massive total of 183 runs on the board. In knockout games every run creates pressure, and the team did exactly that in the first innings. The opposition showed great determination with the bat and made it a thrilling contest, but ODF held their nerve to win the match by just 2 runs. An incredible effort and a true team performance. 👏🔥

Best of luck to the boys for next weekend. Hopefully we finish the season with the flag in our hands. 🏆

ODH had a tough day and unfortunately couldn’t get over the line in their semi-final. However, qualifying for the semi-finals itself is a great achievement. One difficult day can stop the journey to the final, but ODH showed great commitment and represented the club with pride throughout the season. 💪

What a day at College Park! The Champion Lakes Cricket Club Over 40s just proved that veterans can still bring the heat and take the Season Finale title!

Our veteran squad showed that experience + grit = winning formula (and a few grey hairs 😂).

From ninja-like bowling to steady batting, every player brought their A-game when it mattered most. 😎

🏏 Grand Final Bound – Champion Lakes Over 40’s! 🏆

We’re proud to announce that the Champion Lakes Over 40’s team has officially qualified for the Grand Final, happening this Sunday, 1st of March!

It’s been a fantastic season built on teamwork, commitment, and consistent performances. The boys have shown great character all year, and now it all comes down to one final challenge.

We’ll be facing a strong and well-deserving side in Hola Health WSCC. Congratulations to them as well on qualifying for the Grand Final — it’s a great achievement and a testament to their hard work throughout the season.

Wishing both teams the very best for what promises to be an exciting and competitive match.

As the 2025–26 cricket season approaches its decisive stage, ODB finds itself in a crucial position. The team is set to play its final league match, a must-win encounter to secure qualification for the semi-finals. Every run, every wicket, and every moment in this match will be vital.

The players have worked hard throughout the season, showing resilience and commitment. Now, it comes down to delivering a complete performance under pressure. Focus, discipline, and strong teamwork will be key to achieving the desired result.

Meanwhile, the other grades still have a few league matches remaining before heading into the knockout phase. This provides them with an opportunity to fine-tune their combinations, build momentum, and finish the season strongly.

It’s time for everyone to step up, support each other, and represent ODB with pride. The goal is clear that perform at our best and push confidently toward the finals.

Weekend Wrap

ODB’s three-match winning streak came to an end this weekend. After winning the toss and electing to bowl, our fielding performance unfortunately let us down. Three dropped catches in the first 10 overs allowed the opposition to settle and build momentum. Combined with challenging ground conditions, they capitalised and posted a commanding total of 245 runs in 40 overs.

In response, our openers provided a solid start; however, the middle order was unable to apply sustained pressure. Regular wickets disrupted the chase, and we were eventually restricted to 158 runs. Overall, it was not our day, and we will look to regroup strongly for the final league match.

ODD secured an important victory against Leeming. After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, the team delivered an excellent bowling performance to restrict the opposition to 142 runs. The chase proved challenging, with some early struggles, but the team showed composure under pressure and crossed the line to win by 3 wickets.

ODF produced a dominant performance against Hilton Bicton. After being asked to bowl first, the bowling unit dismantled the opposition for just 66 runs. The target was chased comfortably, sealing a convincing 7-wicket victory.
Man of the Match:- Rahul Kola

ODH faced Kenwick Royals and, after being put in to bat, posted a competitive total of 170 runs thanks to some strong individual batting performances. However, the bowling unit was unable to build momentum, and the opposition chased the target successfully, winning by 8 wickets.
Man of the Match:- Gokul

Overall, Champion Lakes recorded two wins for the weekend, which is a positive outcome. However, ODB must win the final league match to secure a place in the semi-finals.
