Mixed Foursomes Championship Report

The Mixed Foursomes Championship was contested over two Sundays, with players taking on two challenging rounds of 18 holes in the ultimate test of alternate-shot golf.

Battling cold winds and passing showers before the afternoon sun finally broke through, players showed great determination and plenty of teamwork. The clubhouse was buzzing after each round, with lively stories of missed putts, inventive recovery shots and the challenges of playing from unfamiliar lies.

✨ Gross Champions: Sammie Hoad & Scott Howard
✨ Gross Runners-Up: Sunok Maeng & Kevin Kwak
✨ Nett Champions: Hyun Kim & Daniel Seo

First-time entrants Hyun Kim and husband Daniel Seo produced a remarkable performance to take out the Nett title, while Sammie Hoad and Scott Howard held steady down the stretch to secure the Gross Championship over runners-up Sunok Maeng and Kevin Kwak.

The championship concluded with drinks, dinner and a presentation ceremony, providing a fitting end to two enjoyable afternoons of competitive golf, camaraderie and plenty of memorable moments.

The 2026 Women’s Foursomes Championships and Bronze Foursomes Championships (GA 19.6+) concluded after two thrilling Thursdays of 36-hole competition.

A strong field of 78 players turned up to play with spectacular weather, immaculate fairway conditions, and fast, challenging greens that tested every pair's precision and teamwork.

🏆 Championship Division Results
In a closely contested battle at the top, Ellie Makayev and Farmaan Dhillon put together two excellent rounds to claim the title of Championship Winners. Sue Shin and Sunok Maeng pressed them all the way to finish as Gross Runners-Up, while showcasing superb consistency to turn the tables and take home the NETT Winners trophy (with Makayev and Dhillon securing NETT Runners-Up).

🥉 Bronze Foursomes Championships (GA 19.6+)
The Bronze Division featured a dominant performance by Rosemary Munt and Marg Darcy, who expertly navigated the fast greens across both Thursdays to sweep both the Gross and NETT championships. Sue Mulligan and Judyanne Thrower delivered strong golf throughout the 36 holes to finish as deserving Runners-Up in both categories.

Congratulations to all 78 competitors who took part across both Thursdays, making the 2026 event a great success in magnificent playing conditions!

CHCC SUPER SENIORS

What an anticlimax! With 5 players from the squad of 12 unavailable, Trevor Amery was registered to enable us to field a team of 8. With all players being elevated in the batting order we knew it was backs to the wall for a tough fight against Bayview at Roseville Golf Club.

With just 4 matches getting through 9 holes, rain washed out play. After much deliberation it was decided a neutral course would be found and the round replayed within the next couple of weeks.

See you at the replay - Bill Fasher.

CHCC SUPER SENIOR PENNANT

Castle Hill vs Roseville — 13.8.26

What a great win! With 3 of our top 4 players away on holidays meant the boys below had to move up the ladder to cover them.

Gerry Power maintained his great form with a 3 and 2 win. Ian “Cocho” Cochrane, playing at number 2, fought hard all day to square his match on the 18th.

Rob Pedersen, who is undergoing chemotherapy, flew down from the Gold Coast to play in the team, but ended up going down 2&1. What a great effort Peddo very, very impressive.

Bob White just keeps playing, getting the job done with a fine 4&3 win. Even after being elevated to play at number 5, Tony Pagliaro blitzed the opposition to beat 7 and 5.

Des Harvey elevated to play at number 6, came not having his best day on the course, still came away a winner 1 up at the last hole.

Craig Watson also not having his best day still came away with a 2 and 1 win.

Congratulations to Mark Eades making his maiden appearance, narrowly missing to inflict a 7 and 6 win.

All in all a great effort that keeps us in with a chance of the playoffs. Thanks again to caddies & supporters for your continued support.

Next game Monday 17/8/26 against Bayview at Roseville. See you there.

A par-72 championship course across 167 acres, a history that goes all the way back to 1950, and a clubhouse that's seen its fair share of big moments.

We're proud to have officially launched the CHCC Foundation, a new initiative dedicated to supporting our junior members at every stage of their golfing journey. From complete beginners through to aspiring professionals, the Foundation is all about building connection, growing skills and helping young people fall in love with the game.

It was fantastic to welcome our new Program Director, Dean Kinney, to the club and hear more about what's ahead for junior golf at CHCC.

We can't wait to see what happens in the future for these golfers!

⛳ Eric Apperly Shield | Round 4

Another incredibly hard-fought day for our Castle Hill Eric Apperly team, this time away at Concord Golf Club.

The scoreboard again didn’t quite reflect how close the contest was, with some outstanding golf across the team. Blake Komorowski secured a terrific victory, Andrew Kneeves fought back from 3 down to earn a half while Nick Heanes and Elie Makayev both took their matches all the way to the 18th hole.

What continues to impress us most is the fight in this group. No matter the score or situation, they simply keep competing until the match is over.

A huge thank you to our caddies, parents, members and supporters who travelled to Concord and walked the fairways with the team. 💙

Next stop, Pymble Golf Club this Sunday from 7:00am for Round 5. We'd love to see some Castle Hill support out there!

Proud of this team. Let’s finish strongly!

Go Castle Hill! ⛳
