I'm riding 200km in the MACA Cancer 200 to help fund cancer research.
For this week only, I'll unlock an exclusive Ride perk if I raise $240 by 11:59pm, 6 June.
Please donate if you can.
Every dollar helps me reach my fundraising goal and supports cancer research at the Perkins.
Thanks for your support!

Hi all. As some of you might know, I’m riding 200km (between Perth and Mandurah) to help raise vital funds for cancer research this October.
It’s a big physical toll, but it’s worth it. Every donation I raise goes to cancer research at the Perkins.
This month is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Melanoma is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia. For those with advanced cases, the odds of survival are just 50%. Fortunately, the Perkins cancer researchers are on the case!
Their melanoma discovery team hope to introduce new, effective treatment options to improve the statistics. But they need our help. With extra funding, we can progress their research and help Western Australians live longer, healthier lives.
During May, your donation can also help us celebrate our 200km effort. We’ve got the chance to win access to the VIP Oasis post-ride at the WesTrac Welcome Back at The Camfield.
Please help us conquer melanoma (and the post-ride calf cramps) with a donation today! Thank you.

Hit the road again this morning for another small ride. Not rushing… slightly longer and faster today.
Followed by a nice pool plunge again.

Well it’s that time again. I’m down to do the Maca 200 again this year. As hard as it was last year it was such a great time, I don’t want to miss it…FOMO much.
Time to design a training program again, give myself lots and lots of time. Want to up the training this year. Add Pilbara cold plunges and strength training. Even contemplating doing a Twisted 75 Hard challenge to boost it off - will see, maybe srart 1st May. Got to help the body any way I can.
So here’s to day 1, all be it just a small start but a start regardless

Hi folks.
Over the next few weeks, I’ve got the rare chance to win a fancy set of wheels. If I raise just $109 for cancer research at the Perkins before 30 April, I’ll enter the draw to win a bike.
It’s exactly what I need to power through 200km and cross that finish line in style!
With a little help, I’ll enter the draw as quickly as possible.
Please donate today and help me get a little closer to my $109 goal!
Thank you.

Wow what a morning…. It turned out to be a great deal bigger than I expected.
I did muck up and put my Strava app on pause and forgot to restart it so have had to go back and manually calculate the distance.
Ride was 2hrs 20mins long, done huge hills (that I didn’t realise) definitely getting good at manipulating the gears and going “I think I can, I think I can). Total distance (conservatively) …….34.7kms….
I could have gone further but was conscious of time.
Feeling reasonably comfortable and confident for the weekend.
Below is the route I went on…
Couple of smaller rides for the rest of the week just to keep the legs pumping….

Hills of Bunbury conquered this afternoon. Definitely getting fitter.
Bring on next weekend

So what to do on a day when the weather has turn to crap….. head out on an afternoon ride. Good one….
It was a hard one not only with the hills but with 40km winds and a hell of a lot of 62km gusts the core definitely has had a work out trying to stay on the bike. And it really was a struggle in quite a few places. Dodging the rain in places too lol…. My eyes were stinging the majority of the way.
But Scarborough to Hillary’s return in this weather I really can’t complain it was a great effort.
Few pics of the afternoon
The route I took, the weather from my base, a quick pic of Trigg Beach (surprised no surfers out), Hillary’s Marina and a surprise in my analysis….
Max speed over 54km per hour, got to be impressed with that…

This morning was a tad fresh so I decided to change it up a little with a cycle in the gym.
Just 8km little ride, to get the muscles working and blood pumping.
Was hoping to take a few photos but unfortunately there was a few others in there at the same time and I was too self conscious to get the phone out lol….
Looking forward to a much longer ride tomorrow morning, fingers crossed this weather holds otherwise I’m going to be getting wet.
11days to go….
