Getting The Quarter Lawn ready for festival season.
A little bit of love to help it survive the thousands of feet, food trucks, decorations, stages, bands and fun that it will host in the coming months.

If these two were the only ones I made happy with some green grass today it is totally worth it.

🌿 Turf Renovation Season Is Underway in Karratha! 🌱
As spring rolls in, so does our annual turf renovation season across the City of Karratha’s parks and ovals—running through September, October, and November. You might notice a bit of extra activity on your local oval, and here’s why:
🛠️ What’s Happening? To keep our green spaces healthy and ready for community use, the City is undertaking essential turf maintenance, including:
Verti-mowing – removing built-up thatch to promote stronger, fresher grass growth
Coring – improving soil aeration and drainage for long-term turf health
Top Dressing – smoothing out surfaces and enriching the soil for a lush, even finish
While the grass might look a little rough during the process, it’s all part of ensuring our parks and sporting fields bounce back better than ever—just in time for summer fun and local events.
🌞 Why It Matters These renovations help maintain safe, vibrant, and playable surfaces for everyone—from weekend cricketers to families enjoying a picnic. We are commitment to providing top-quality recreational spaces for our community.
Please be mindful of temporary closures and crews at work, and thank you for your patience while we give our turf the TLC it deserves!

Point Samson.
The city is investing in the development of lush, grassed areas across our community transforming once dry, underused spaces into vibrant, welcoming places for everyone to enjoy. 😁
Enjoy a picnic with family or simply soak up the sunshine.

Well done to the rest of the WA boys for bringing home the state golf trophy for the 2nd year in a row and Fads for winning another Red jacket.
Today the education begins 🎓

Night work in high traffic high risk areas is sometimes the best option.
Minimise disruption, maintain maximum useable grass areas during works.
Ensure the client and their patrons are the focus.
Lots of manual labour work, vertimow thatch removal, hollow tine coring, topsoil dressing, fertilising.
Delivery of the desired results with no pool or hard stand contamination. 👍

Enjoyed prepping all the Cricket wickets at the change of season in readiness for Soccer, AFL and Rugby. Softfall backed synthetic and a little topsoil around edges. Helping keep the little ones and the bigger kids safe ⚽🏉🏈

Some interesting "soil" profiles we get to grow turf in and improve upon in the Pilbara. 😂
This one is a favourite POS for most and the only park in town I've seen people get married in.
At this site we dug out some failed turf areas to 300mm, replaced with some quality topsoil, relaid turf, hollow tined and topdressed.
The Toro ProCore 864 bouced through a few areas but still managed to pull some good slugs from the ground.
4 weeks later its looking really good.
(During picture - nice road base 👍)

Very proud to be able to support our local golf club and provide sponsorship for our up and coming professional golfers. Even better when you get the winner in your team. Good golfing Braden Becker. Must of been my caddying tips 😉
