Speed dating, but make it viticulture 🍇

Luke from our Commercial team and Felise from R&D are at the DJ’s Growers Viticulture Information Day in McLaren Vale today, meeting with local growers and sharing more about soil health and plant nutrition.

It’s a speed-dating style format, with growers moving from table to table for quick conversations with suppliers, asking questions, exploring new ideas and finding practical solutions they can take back to the vineyard.

As we continue to bloom into the Spring season, the flowers within the Magnolia Gully at the Mt Lofty Botanic Garden have also begun to blossom.

These beautiful flowers are often referred to as "living fossils" because fosillised magnolia flowers have been found that are 95 million years old, dating back to the time of the dinosaurs.

To help your magnolias thrive, feed during the growing season with Kahoona, which has been specifically developed to support the growth and flowering of acid-loving plants. Apply in spring and finish with a layer of WhoFlungDung to help retain moisture in warmer months.

This time of year, it always creates a wonderful opportunity to get out and visit the Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens as there are so many stunning varieties of flowers and plants to see! 🌼

Our final visit to Helen’s garden takes us to the orchard. 🌳

With spring underway, Helen is giving her fruit trees a feed of Gyganic to provide the nutrients they need to support healthy growth throughout the season.

She also shares how she’s putting the new paper packaging to use around her garden after finishing with the product by adding it to the compost bin.

It’s been wonderful to see what Helen has been up to in the garden since retiring from Neutrog, and we hope you’ve enjoyed coming along for the visit.

Next up in our garden visit with Helen… it’s time to give her herbs a little attention!

In part two of this series series, Helen is repotting her thyme and sharing a few of the ways she gives her plants a helping hand.

Before planting, Helen soaks her seedlings in POPUL8 to help introduce beneficial biology to the root zone and give new plants a great start. She also incorporates Seamungus into her potting mix, helping to improve the mix and provide nutrients and organic matter as her herbs settle into their new pots.

And there’s still one more stop to make in Helen’s garden… 🌳

We were so excited to see the new Meatworks, that we flew up to the factory to get some video and didn’t realise we had the video on timelapse, but in hindsight, it does reflect how excited we were to see it!!! 🏃‍♀️

If you’re a fan of blood and bone, Meatworks is everything you love, plus specially selected microbes that have been bio-engineered onto activated carbon.

What this means for your garden is that the nutrients in the meat and bone meal are more readily available for your plants.

Look out for Meatworks in stores from this week.

Stay tuned for the next instalment, when Helen turns her attention to repotting her thyme!

The Horticulture Pavilion at the was bursting with colour last week, featuring displays that celebrated the positive impact that gardens and gardening can have.

Grow by was a standout feature, highlighting how every garden has the power to make a positive difference. From supporting our physical health and mental wellbeing to strengthening food security and fostering a deeper connection with nature, gardens can have a truly lasting impact.

To demonstrate that every space can play a role, Sophie designed the garden around three distinct settings - a balcony, a courtyard and a backyard.

Each area was filled with practical ideas and inspiration, showing how gardens of any size can become productive, sustainable and welcoming spaces for people and nature alike.

Monique from our Marketing team captured these photos of the display, noting how lush and vibrant they were in person!

We know plenty of gardens “guzzling” GOGO Juice in veggie beds and flowering pots, on roses, natives and fruit trees - but we’d not seen this before!

Alicia, from our SA sales team spotted this thirsty pig when she visited Serenity garden centre last week, which made us chuckle.

Garden centres and nurseries are such great places for inspiration in spring, and any time of year for that matter!
