Another prep post but this time featuring my favourite person who’s done the steps cardio and posing with me and made the whole thing so much more enjoyable 🖤

While I’m always happy to share my journey, please don’t compare your fat loss journey to someone else’s contest prep
Bodybuilding is a sport
The goal of contest prep is to present the leanest possible physique on one specific day
That is completely different from a normal fat loss phase
Your fat loss journey should fit into your life. It should still allow you to work, train, recover, socialise and function like a normal human
Contest prep eventually becomes the opposite
And let’s be completely honest, being this lean feels like s**t 😂
It might look impressive in photos, but it comes with more hunger, less energy, more fatigue, lower libido and very little flexibility
This condition is not sustainable, nor would I ever want to maintain it
Stage lean is for the stage
So please don’t look at someone in contest prep and think you need to eat less, do more cardio or push your body further
You aren’t behind and you aren’t doing it wrong
You’re simply working towards a completely different goal
Things that are ‘normal’ when dieting 👇🏼
-More hunger and food thoughts
-Lower energy
-Feeling colder
-Feeling a little more irritable (not an excuse to be an as***le though 😂)
-Changes in digestion
…the list goes on
Dieting is an energy deficit, so of course we may feel a little s**t when less energy is coming in 😂
Knowing what to expect can set us up for better success and is exactly why we want to get in, get the job done and get back out of dieting phases
