Country Football WA - Goldfields

On Thursday last week I got the absolute honour of heading to the O'Connor Primary School, Kalgoorlie-Boulder assembly to recognise their 2 school winners of the design a jumper competition!

The girls winning designs were submitted into the statewide comp where they could win their school a set of football guernseys in their winning design!

Massive congratulations Faye and Pyper on their hard work and creativity on their designs!

🏆 Massive congratulations to Railways on their 7/8s GF win and the Kangas on their 9/10s!!! 🏆

It was an absolutely epic day, with some great footy and even better community support getting around our up and coming junior footballers!

Congratulations to the GFL and all of the clubs on another awesome junior season and thank you for all of the hard work you put in to allow our kids to play 🤍

Good luck to all the teams playing in todays GFL junior Grand Final!

Player age: 15+ (no max age!)
When: Wednesday's 6pm- 7pm
Where: Morrison Oval
Start Date: 26th of August- join at any time

All registration is FREE- and players simply pay for the games they actually play. The $5 a head covers, player insurance (everyone is covered under Marsh for injuries and treatment that medicare doesn't cover), ground hire, lighting, umpires and public liability for the comp. Anything left over from the comp after end of season costs have been covered are being donated to support families travelling for talent and representative opportunities.

AFL Nines Rules for 2026 Spring Comp:
🌟Touch tags (tag= tackle)
🌟Dropped handball is a turn over, any other time the ball hits the ground its play on
🌟Can't tag until a person is standing upright
🌟Otherwise normal footy rules apply
🌟2x 20min halves
🌟Games played on reduced size field
