As expected the The City of Joondalup Coastal Quest 2025 Sprint triathlon delivered fast and exciting racing which was great to see!
Well done all participants, organisers and volunteers! 🤙

The City of Joondalup Coastal Quest 2025 Sprint triathlon delivered nail-biting racing at Hillarys' Whitford Nodes Park on 14 December 2025.

In the Men's race, a ferocious battle saw the top three separated by just over a minute and an even closer Female race.

Congratulations to our overall and Male winner of the Sprint Reece Harris who edged out his rivals with a blistering run split of 16:30. 🔥 Reece gapped his rivals with a solid lead out the swim with only 2024 winner Kurt Wesley on his heels. The surprise late entry from Matt Burton just a week after Ironman WA, was an ominous warning for anyone looking to dominate the bike leg on race day. Even on tired post Ironman legs there was a strong charge from Matt to clock the quickest bike split of the day into second place, he then held to cover the strong run from Christopher Gardner who settled for third place. Reece Harris held strong through each leg along with quick race transitions to finish in 57:32 with Burton a close second in 58:12 and Gardner 58:45.

The Women's podium was equally thrilling, with the 2024 champion Sian Munks and Madison Toovey trying to hold onto the feet of Ava Henville through the swim leg. With a slight lead out the water Henville ramped the pressure with a 42 second T1 split to the start of the bike leg. Age and experience then came into play with Munks and Toovey smashing bike splits 2min quicker than Henville to take the front of the race. In the end it was a run battle over the closing 2.5km and a 19:04 vs. 19:32 run split that enabled Munks to take the win in 1:05:06 to successfully defend her title and Toovey only 21sec back in 1:05:27. Henville was still threatening finishing in 1:07:25!
