It's been a busy few weeks. K'gari, a 274 km Chapter Ride and a country music festival — all in the first part of July. 🤠🏍️🏝️
We spent four days exploring K'gari from Eurong, with beach driving, rainforest, lakes and a run north towards Indian Head and Champagne Pools.
The day after getting home, I was back on the Road King for the July Chapter Ride leading the Chapter through the Scenic Rim, turning the Sunday ride into my very own Birthday Bash.
Then it was Lasso Country Music Festival at Distillery Road Market, with Austin Mackay, The Wet Whistles and Drake Milligan among the highlights. I also loved how approachable the performers were, mixing with the crowd and watching the other artists.
All three stories, galleries and route maps are now live on ShaneAbell.com. Link in bio.

Dalby Cowboy Wars
A short overnight run west in the Navara with Zoe and Letty, swags packed, a lunch stop in Toowoomba, a look around Dalby Pioneer Park Museum and then camp set up at Dalby Showgrounds.
It was the girls’ first rodeo and our first time camping at one. The rodeo crowd was lively enough, but the camping crowd was another level. Not much sleep, but definitely one worth documenting.

After years of Harley rides, rallies, road trips, camping adventures, concerts and family memories, I’ve finally found something to do with all the photos, videos and GPS recordings I’ve collected along the way and brought everything together in one place.
ShaneAbell.com is now live.
The idea for the site was sparked by a few recent conversations with my mate Jason Price. We’d been talking about the web development work he’d been doing, and after he showed me his own personal website on the weekend, it gave me the push to finally create my own.
The site brings together ride reports, event galleries, travel stories, maps and photos from adventures across Queensland, Australia and beyond.
There’s plenty more content still to come, but it’s finally at a point where I’m excited to share it.
Thanks, Jason, for the inspiration and the nudge to get started.
Have a look and let me know what you think.

Spent 3 days rearranging the shed so I could make room to slide the 32 in and start working it. Did a little online shopping with and this morning and then spent a few hours tinkering before I head off to the drive-in tonight. Installed the R35 coil kit, removed the clutch fan (new one on its way) and most of the hot side is gone. Exhaust manifold bolts have been generously covered in shift ya bastard so fingers crossed they come out easy tomorrow.
