Ipswich Little Athletics

Little A's is for kids aged 5 - 16. U6-U8 begin at 5pm
U09-U17 begin at 6pm. Track events consist of sprints, distance, hurdles and walk.

Little Athletics commenced in Ipswich in 1976 as Bundamba Little Athletics and later moved to Bill Paterson Oval in 1981 with a name change to Ipswich Little Athletics. All age groups compete in a total of five track and field events each Friday night commencing at 5:30pm. Field events are long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, discus and javelin. Don’t miss your chance to be part of one of the highlights of the Little Athletics season, happening Saturday 19 September at the Bundaberg Region Athletics Facility.

Open to all LAQ registered U7–U17 Little Athletics Queensland athletes, regardless of ability, the carnival is a fantastic opportunity to: Chase a new PB, try a new event, compete alongside friends and enjoy an exciting carnival atmosphere!

Athletes can nominate for up to four events.

Please note: Athletes must be registered for the 2026/27 Little Athletics Queensland season before nominating.

Due to coaches being delayed leaving QSAC for METWEST Regional Championships, training will be delayed by half an hour.

U6-8 will start at 5:30pm, U9-17 will start warm-up at 6:15pm.
