Having right of way is only half the job.
We were travelling through the Britannia roundabout when a vehicle approaching from our left failed to give way.
My student saw it developing and was prepared to stop — exactly what we want. No panic, no drama and no near miss.
But watch what happens next. Once we stop for the first vehicle, other vehicles continue through as well, even though we have right of way.
This is why good driving isn't just about knowing who should give way. You also need to watch what other drivers are actually doing and be prepared when they don't do what they're supposed to.
Know the rule. Read the traffic. Be prepared.
Good drivers don't happen by accident.
