🏹💙 WHAT AN INCREDIBLE DAY AT GOSNELLS ARCHERS! 💙🏹

Today we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming 60 wonderful women from the Daughters of Hawa to Gosnells Archers for two Come & Try Archery sessions — and what an amazing day it was!

There were plenty of laughs, lots of encouragement, some great shooting and maybe even a few new archery addictions started! 🎯😂🏹

It was fantastic to see everyone giving archery a go, supporting each other and embracing the challenge. The atmosphere across both sessions was just brilliant.

We also had the honour of teaching one of Western Australia’s State Senator Fatima Payman who joined us as part of the group and stepped up to the shooting line to experience archery alongside everyone else. What a privilege to be able to share our sport with her! 🏹

But today was about even more than having fun.

The two sessions also officially kicked off our fundraising efforts to help our Gosnells youth archers get to the 2027 Youth National Championships — and thanks to today’s event, we have started that journey with an incredible $2,100 raised! 🎉💰

A massive THANK YOU to the Daughters of Hawa and URBAN pop-up and every one of the 60 women who joined us today. Thank you for bringing such fantastic energy, enthusiasm and positivity to our club.

And a huge thank you to all of our Gosnells Archers volunteers who gave their time to coach, assist and make sure both sessions ran smoothly. Days like today simply don’t happen without people willing to get involved and help. 💙

We absolutely loved having you all at our club and hope this isn’t the last time we see you on the shooting line!

State & National Indoors are on this weekend! 🏹🎯

If anyone is looking to get in some last-minute indoor practice, there are still a few places available in our training sessions this week.

Such an amazing morning at the club! ☀️🏹 The sun was shining, the arrows were flying, and everyone got a lovely dose of Vitamin D. 💜

🏹 IMPORTANT ARCHER INFORMATION – INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS 🏹
With the Indoor Championships approaching, please take note of the key timings and important information for registration, equipment inspection, muster, shooting and lunch breaks across the weekend.
We will have access to the venue on Friday evening to complete the event set-up, so Day 1 will commence as scheduled.
⚠️ All archers must arrive on time and complete registration and equipment inspection within the allocated times. Late arrivals after registration and equipment inspection have been completed will not be accepted, and the tournament will not be delayed to accommodate late arrivals.
📅 DAY 1 – Double Australian Indoor 18m
🔹 Registration opens: 8:00am
🔹 Equipment Inspection: 8:15am–8:45am
🔹 Muster / Archer Briefing & Practice: 9:00am
🔹 Scoring will commence directly after the final practice end
🍴 Lunch: The first 30-arrow round is expected to conclude at approximately 12:00pm. A one-hour lunch break will commence at the conclusion of the first round, so please treat 12:00pm–1:00pm as an approximate lunch period.
The second 30-arrow round will commence following the lunch break.
🏆 MATCHPLAY SHOOT-OUT
The Matchplay Shoot-Out competition will be held on Day 1 following the completion of the Indoor rounds. Further instructions regarding the shoot-out format and archer allocation will be provided on the day.
📅 DAY 2 – World Archery Indoor 18m
🔹 Registration opens: 8:00am
🔹 Equipment Inspection: 8:30am–8:45am for archers who have made changes to their equipment from Day 1
🔹 Muster / Archer Briefing & Practice: 9:00am
🔹 Scoring will commence directly after the final practice end
🍴 Lunch: The first 30-arrow round is again expected to conclude at approximately 12:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break commencing at the conclusion of the round.
The second 30-arrow round will commence once the lunch break has finished.
Please arrive with enough time to complete all required registration and equipment checks before the scheduled muster.

🏹 Become an accredited Archery Australia Judge

Archery WA is pleased to be hosting a two-day Judges Course at Archery Park, Whiteman on 5 & 12 September 2026.

The course is a great opportunity for members interested in developing their knowledge of archery rules and becoming involved in supporting competitions and events across WA.

To participate, you must:
- Be a current Archery Australia member
- Have at least two years’ experience in archery
- Have a basic understanding of archery rules
- Be able to attend both course days

Participants will complete a pre-course open-book exam, a closed-book exam and practical assessment as part of the accreditation process.

☕ There is no cost to attend, and morning and afternoon tea will be provided.

🌟 Celebrating National Youth Volunteer Week! 🌟

This National Youth Volunteer Week, Archery WA is celebrating the young people who give their time, energy and enthusiasm to support archery clubs and communities across WA. 🏹💙

Youth volunteering can take many forms — helping set up or pack away a range, lending a hand at competitions and club events, welcoming new members, supporting coaches, assisting with club activities, or simply being the person who is always willing to jump in and help.

No contribution is too small. Every time a young person gets involved, they are not only helping their club — they are developing confidence, leadership and valuable life skills while helping to shape the future of our sport.

🏅 This year, Archery WA is also proud to recognise our youth volunteers in a special way.

Clubs have been invited to nominate young members who make a positive contribution to their archery community. These nominated youth volunteers will be recognised at the upcoming Australian and WA State Indoor Championships, where they will be presented with a 2026 Volunteer Recognition Medallion and Archery WA Quokka Pin as a thank you for their contribution.

To all of our young volunteers across WA — thank you! Whether you help a little or a lot, your contribution matters, and we are incredibly grateful to have you as part of our archery community. 💙🏹

* If you are shooting a 3-spot target, you must use a World Archery traffic light face (not a Vegas face).
* Under World Archery scoring, the X-ring scores 10, the 10-ring scores 9, and the 9-ring scores 9.

All Other Bow Classes

* There is no separate X scoring.
* Both the X-ring and the 10-ring score 10, with the 9-ring scoring 9.
