"I don't think she'd do it. She's really shy."

Shy kids do beautifully here. Often better than the ones who charge in.

Our 5–8 classes are structured, predictable and short on surprises. Same routine, same teachers, clear expectations. For a cautious child, that's the safest possible place to try something new.

We don't make anyone perform on day one. We just let them watch, join in when they're ready, and build from there.

Term 4 places are open now, and we're taking the $50 Active Kids Voucher as full registration for a limited number of new students. That's $199 → $0, plus a free Gi and free Online Academy access.

Shy kids welcome. Energetic kids welcome. Kids who take six weeks to say a word to their instructor, very welcome.

Some kids will run into a new activity without looking back. Plenty won't, and that doesn't mean Karate isn't for them. It usually just means the start was too big a jump.

Our new Absolute Beginners Program gives your child two free private lessons before they ever step into a group class. By the time they do, they know their instructor, they know the routine, and they've got a few moves they're proud of.

Starts Monday 28 September, kids 8+, teens and adults. Bookings close that day.

Huge congratulations to our newest Black Belts! 🥋🖤

Last weekend, these incredible students proved everything they've worked so hard for, the early mornings, the sore muscles, the moments they wanted to give up but didn't. A black belt isn't the end of the journey, it's just the beginning of a new one.

We are so unbelievably proud of each and every one of you. This achievement belongs to you, and to the family, friends, and instructors who backed you every step of the way.

You're never too old to start. You're also not too unfit, too uncoordinated or too busy.

Half the adults training at BBMA Hornsby started in their 30s, 40s and 50s. Plenty of them hadn't done anything active in years. Nobody's watching you. Everyone's too busy working on their own stuff.

Our Absolute Beginners Program is built for exactly this. Two free private lessons first, so your very first experience of Karate is calm, one-on-one and completely at your pace.

Then the school holiday program from 6–10 October to practise as much or as little as you like, before regular classes start 12 October.

Free Gi. Free Online Academy. No tuition payments until Term 4. Starts Monday 28 September. Bookings close that day.

That's exactly why our Absolute Beginners Program starts with two free private lessons. Just you and an instructor. No class watching on. No keeping up with anyone.
