Some very sad news today.....one of the most brilliant artists who generously donated a beautiful piece of artwork for our charity event has passed away....Graeme Stevenson was such a shining light generating warmth to everyone he met while promoting artists to audiences around the world in his TV show ‘Put Some Colour in your Life’. Graeme’s enthusiasm was infectious.....his talents immeasurable.....a truly beautiful soul .....he will be missed by many......Rest In Peace ❤️

Just some of the incredible people that made Art on Fire such an awesome event

I've always loved this painting, and this year I donated it to a fundraiser for the Fireys, after the devastating bushfires. Those of you familiar with what I do will be aware of how rarely I keep things subtle... I'm generally more about brilliant colour and dramatic effect!
However, it's nice to switch things up now and again, and this is from that formative period when I was developing my now signature "Gesso soup" technique. The colour palette was shamelessly pinched from a magazine page in the doctor's waiting room- Mars Violet, Red Gold and black. Then of course, I found that a bit bleak, so a little bright lime green had to get in there too.
It's all about hope, regeneration, and the sure knowledge that all is not lost, even when things look like an ending. A bit like today's situation, with the world in lockdown and many people losing lives and livelihoods due to Covid-19.
Fingers crossed that just like this little tree, we have what we need to rebuild just below the surface of all this grief and pain.

If you would like to have an aspirational reminder on overcoming adversity on your wall, many of my works are available as reproductions and currently on special at https://www.buyartnow.com.au/de-gillett/art_print_products/dgil-047-aftermath

We have several items that have not reached their reserves and they are utterly beautiful and stunning. We also realise that many people could not attend the event and have been reaching out having heard about how amazing it was.

Please find the following items that are available from the event. Please contact us via the page for more information about them and any bid you may like to make. The entire proceeds go to the RFS. It would be fabulous for these works to find new homes with all the funding going to such a needed cause.

The items are here in Sydney and need to be collected or postage paid for them to be sent. However they are all stunning and some very well known artists have been so kind as to donate them for this cause. Please get behind this and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks Lynda ❤️
