Hoppers Crossing were awarded a 3–0 forfeit win after Heidelberg Eagles were unable to field a team for the Round 20 fixture.

Chapter 6 of our HCSC Volunteer Spotlight highlights a group of coaches who guide players through an important stage of their football journey. At these ages, players begin to grow in confidence, understand teamwork more deeply, and develop the habits that shape how they train, compete, and support each other. These coaches help create the environment where that growth can happen.

They bring patience, encouragement, and consistency to every session. They celebrate improvement, help players navigate challenges, and foster the sense of connection that makes football meaningful. Whether it’s building team unity, supporting steady development, or helping players believe in themselves, each coach contributes to the positive experience that defines these age groups.

This instalment features four coaches who play a part in strengthening our junior program:

• Milan — U14 Coach

Together, they help create an environment where players feel supported, challenged, and proud of their progress. Their dedication strengthens the culture of our junior program and helps young athletes grow through teamwork, confidence, and steady development.

🔴 SENIORS

Hoppers Crossing shared the points in a 2–2 draw away at Plenty Valley Lions. Ivan Silic opened the scoring early with a composed finish, then doubled the lead before halftime with a brilliant free kick. Hoppers controlled large periods of the match and created chances to extend the advantage.

Plenty Valley hit back late — first from a corner, then with a long‑range strike — to level the contest. Despite continued pressure, the match finished all square.

🟡 RESERVES

A composed 3–1 win for the Reserves, extending their run to nine games unbeaten. Early goals from Christopher Widmar‑Mavrantonis and Joshua Verghese set the tone, with Hoppers managing the match confidently throughout to secure another strong result.

Chapter 5 of our HCSC Volunteer Spotlight recognises the volunteers who help shape the experience for our younger players — the people who support teams, guide families, and contribute to the positive environment our juniors enjoy every week. Their efforts help create the foundation where kids can grow, learn, and feel connected to the game and the club.

These volunteers bring care, commitment, and consistency to matchday and training. They help organise teams, support coaches, encourage young players, and contribute to the sense of community that makes junior football special. Their impact is seen in the confidence players build, the friendships formed, and the supportive culture that surrounds every game.
