From the racetrack to the Aachen 2026 World Champs! 🏇💚💛

Sophia Hill and Humble Glory affectionally known as Hughie have shown just what an off-the-track Thoroughbred can achieve, finishing an incredible 14th at the FEI World Eventing Championships against 88 of the world’s best combinations. Hughie also produced the fastest clear showjumping round of the day!

Hughie’s journey is a wonderful reminder of the athleticism, courage and versatility of OTT Thoroughbreds, and the incredible second careers that can await them after racing.

🇦🇺🌏 Flying the flag for Australia on the world stage!

A huge congratulations to Queensland’s Emma Flegman, who has been appointed to the Ground Jury for the FEI Eventing European Championship for Young Riders & Juniors, taking place at Segersjö, Sweden, from 26–30 August 2026.

Emma will serve on the Ground Jury for the Junior competition, with responsibilities spanning all three phases — dressage, cross-country and showjumping — playing a key role in one of the sport’s premier youth events.

It’s a wonderful recognition of Emma’s dedication, expertise and journey through eventing officiating. Having competed to 4* level in eventing and Grand Prix in dressage, Emma began judging in 2007 before progressing through the national levels and earning her FEI Level 3 Eventing qualification in 2025.

Now, she takes her place alongside some of the sport’s most experienced international officials.

As Emma says, “I am excited to witness the future of eventing, being part of their journey as I progress in mine.”

We couldn’t be prouder to see another Australian official representing our sport at the highest level. 🇦🇺💚💛

We're seeing more members reporting incidents than ever before, particularly outside of competition. That's exactly what we want to see. Better reporting doesn't necessarily mean more incidents are happening — it means we're building a stronger understanding of where risks exist so we can better support our members and continue improving safety across our sport.

Why does it matter?
✅ It helps us support injured members.
✅ It identifies hazards before they cause harm.
✅ It shows whether our safety initiatives are making a difference.

Whether you're at a competition, training, coaching or riding at home or your local club, if something happens, please report it. Every report - big or small - provides valuable information that helps create a safer environment for everyone.

The Five Domains Model is a science-based framework that helps assess a horse's welfare across all aspects of its life—from nutrition and environment to health, behaviour and mental wellbeing. It's a practical tool that can support better decision-making, no matter your role in our sport.

The five domains of welfare for FEI sport horses’ course is now available on FEI Campus, giving riders, coaches, officials and horse owners the opportunity to deepen their understanding of equine welfare and put welfare-first principles into practice.

💚💛 VALE JODIE McKEONE 💛💚

Equestrian Australia and the Australian Equestrian Team are deeply saddened by the passing of Australian Para Driving athlete Jodie McKeone.

Jodie was Australia’s first Para Driving World Medallist and represented her country with great pride on the international stage. One of the highlights of her remarkable career coming at the 2023 FEI Para Driving World Championship in Exloo, the Netherlands, where she claimed an individual Grade I bronze medal.
She went on to represent Australia again at the 2025 FEI Para Driving World Championship in Lähden, finishing 12th in Grade I.

Beyond her achievements in competition, Jodie was a determined horsewoman and a passionate ambassador for Para Driving. She was a regular at driving clinics across Victoria and a committed volunteer with the DVI team in Europe, always willing to give her time and support to others within the driving community.

Jodie leaves behind a lasting legacy in Australian Para Driving and will be remembered for her determination, generosity and passion for horses and the sport she loved.

Our deepest condolences are with Jodie's family, friends and all those who knew and loved her. We respect their request for time and privacy as they grieve this tremendous loss.

Vale Jodie. You will be deeply missed. 🕊️💚💛

We're working closely with States, Organising Committees and competition platforms to continue building the most complete results database possible, with more information to be shared as we roll out the feature.
