My warm-up is half my workout.
Mobility priming, isometric stability and plyometrics, all before heavy weight is touched.
This is not stretching in the corner for five minutes. This is preparation with the same structure as my working sets.
When your body is primed properly, everything after it feels sharper, stronger and safer.
Most people skip this and go straight to load. Then wonder why their progress stalls and niggles build up.
Earn the right to train heavy and prime your body like it matters, because it does.
What does your warm-up look like?

Structured training, nutrition and recovery for athletes, former players and high performers. DM “ATHLETE” to start
08/08/2026
Recovery doesn’t start in the gym, it starts on your plate.
I’ve seen athletes nail their training and completely neglect what happens after it. Consuming less, or the wrong food on rest days means your body can’t do the work it needs to and you show up to the next session feeling flat.
Muscle repair, tissue recovery and adaptation happens after training, not during it. Your body needs the nutrients to make that happen.
Stop treating rest days as a day off from eating, they’re the most important days to get your nutrition right!

Recovery is not the absence of training. It’s the other half of it.
Many people are taught that progress comes from pushing harder. More sessions. More volume. More effort. And when results stall, the answer is always “do more.”
That is the lie.
Your body does not get stronger during a session. It gets stronger between sessions. When you sleep, when you eat to match the demand and when you move with intention on the days you are not under load.
I program recovery the same way I program training.
Structured. Intentional. Non-negotiable.
If your current plan does not include all three, it is incomplete.
What is the first thing that falls off your plan when life gets busy? Training, nutrition or recovery?

This is what a recovery day looks like.
Cycle. Roll. Stretch. Cold.
Recovery is not a day off. It is the day your body adapts to everything you put it through during the week.
If you skip it, your performance in the coming week will suffer.
I program recovery with the same intent as every other session. It’s all part of the weekly structure.
The only difference is the output. No load and no intensity.
What does your recovery look like or is it just a rest day?

Many athletes obsess over their session. Very few obsess over what fuels it.
Poor pre-training nutrition means lower output, reduced focus and slower recovery. You are not training to your potential if your body is underfuelled.
You don’t need a perfect meal. You need enough protein, carbs and fluids to walk into training ready to perform.
Your program can only take you as far as your nutrition, recovery and consistency allows it to.
Fuel well, perform well!

Your body is the most expensive vehicle you’ll ever own.
Most people fuel it wrong, skip the maintenance and redline it every session. Then wonder why it keeps breaking down.
Your body responds to the same logic as your car.
Right fuel. Regular servicing. Knowing when to push and when to pull back.
That’s not just how you perform better, it’s how you stay athletic for life.

Training hard and eating like it doesn’t matter is the fastest way to stay exactly where you are.
Nutrition isn’t separate from your training. It is your training.
The session provides the stimulus and what you eat lets your body actually respond to it.
Without fuelling properly the recovery doesn’t happen, the adaptation doesn’t stick and you’re back to square one every single week.
Athletes have known this for decades, but most gym-goers are still ignoring it.
Which of the 3 do you actually have locked in? Drop it below
Most athletes I talk to are training hard.
But when I ask them what they’re actually training for, they can’t answer it.
Not because they don’t care, because nobody ever asked them to think about it differently.
Aesthetics is a by-product and Performance is the goal.
When the goal shifts, everything else follows.
How you program, how you recover and how you measure whether it’s actually working.
That’s the difference between someone who trains and someone who performs.
Which one are you building for right now, aesthetics or performance? Drop it below

Most athletes train hard, but very few train smart.
The difference is usually in what happens before the session starts.
Static stretching before lifting. Jumping straight into heavy sets. Ignoring how your body feels that day.
These aren’t beginner mistakes. I see experienced athletes make them every week.
Those who stay healthy, consistent and keep progressing prioritise these swaps. Every session.
Which one are you guilty of?
