High performance is more than what’s in your bank account.
It’s more than your job title or how many boxes you can tick.
It’s how you show up every day.
Being physically strong, capable and present. Having the energy to handle the challenges that come with work, family and life.
Because high performance isn’t one-dimensional.
It’s your health, your wealth and your relationships.
There’s no point winning in one area if everything else is falling apart.
Build a life you’re proud of across all of it.

Happy birthday to my beautiful wife ❤️
Another year of adventures, memories, plenty of laughs and a fair bit of chaos but this year gave us our greatest adventure yet.
Watching you become a mum to Belle has been pretty bloody special. She couldn’t have asked for a better one, and seeing the way you love and care for her has only made me love and respect you more.
We’ve already packed a lot into our years together, but it genuinely feels like we’re only getting started.
There’s nobody I’d rather do life with, and I can’t wait for all the adventures, memories and chapters still ahead of us.
Happy birthday Darlin.
Belle and I are bloody lucky to have you.
Love you always ❤️

The mirror tells the truth your excuses are trying to hide.
You can tell yourself you’re busy.
That it’s just a rough patch.
That you’ll sort yourself out once work calms down.
But the mirror is honest.
Your energy is low. Your gut is bigger. Your posture is off. Your confidence has dropped.
And deep down, you know you’re not showing up as the man you should be.
That’s why this stuff stings.
Because it was never just about how you look.
Your body often reflects how you’re operating.
Discipline or decline.
Control or chaos.
Self-respect or self-neglect.
No man enjoys admitting that he’s let himself slide.
But that’s exactly where the rebuild begins.
Not with shame.
With truth.
Because once you’re honest about where you’re actually at, you can finally do something about it.
You don’t need to hate yourself into changing.
But you do need to stop lying to yourself.
The first step is often the hardest, because it requires dropping the excuses and taking responsibility.
A lot of men spend years waiting for the perfect time to get started.
It never comes.
Nothing changes until something changes.
Take an honest look at where you’re at.
Then get to work.

You’ve got four months. That’s it.
Four months to stop saying “I’ll start Monday” and actually build a body you’re bloody proud of.
Get your ass in the gym. Execute your training. Get your nutrition under control. Build your energy, strength and confidence back.
You don’t need perfection.
You need to start keeping the promises you make to yourself.
One workout. One meal. One hard decision.
Then do it again tomorrow.
The time is going to pass anyway.
So when 2027 arrives, what will you have?
Four months of progress?
Or four months of excuses?
Time to lock in 🔒

Tasmania’s favourite butter… but is it actually butter? 🧈
Duck River has always been a family favourite of ours. But check the label on the spreadable version and you might be surprised, it’s around 70% butter, with the rest made up largely of canola oil.
And you’re paying nearly $9 a tub.
This is exactly why I bang on about reading labels. Packaging and marketing can make two products look almost identical, while nutritionally they’re very different.
If you want the real thing, look for products that actually say BUTTER rather than SPREADABLE.
My pick?
Westgold. Simple, proper butter and generally what I’d consider the gold standard.
If you’re trying to keep the grocery bill down, the supermarket own-brand butter is also a perfectly good option.
The bigger lesson here:
Stop assuming the front of the packet tells you what you’re buying.
Turn it around.
Read the ingredients.
Know what you’re actually eating.
Sometimes the “healthy” or “convenient” option is just clever marketing in a $9 tub.

Back when I was a teacher at an all-boys school, one thing genuinely broke my heart.
I’d hear boys taking the p**s out of their dads.
“Dad’s too fat.”
“Dad can’t run.”
“Dad’s always tired.”
The irony?
Most of those dads were probably doing everything they could to provide for their family.
But it made me realise something...
Being a provider is only half the job.
A father is also called to protect, lead and set the standard.
Your kids don’t just need a bloke who can buy them a bike.
They need a dad who’ll actually ride it with them.
One path leads to more money, but less capacity.
The other builds strength, energy, resilience and presence.
I believe most dads are genuinely trying their best.
But in chasing a better life for their family, many neglect the very thing that allows them to show up at their best.
Your body isn’t about vanity.
It’s about being physically capable enough to lead from the front.
The question isn’t whether you’re a good dad.
The question is... are you becoming the kind of man your kids are proud to follow?

Navy SEAL Hell Week lasts five and a half days.
Ours has felt like seven months.
Since Belle was born, sleep has been almost non-existent. Five or six wake-ups most nights, seven months straight.
The pressure, stress and fatigue of becoming a father have reached levels I couldn’t have understood beforehand.
It’s also given me a completely different respect for the parents and fathers I’ve coached over the years.
Trying to run a business, support your family, be present at home and still look after yourself on broken sleep is bloody hard.
But you don’t wait for life to get easier.
You adapt.
I’m not training five days a week anymore. I get in three focused 45-minute sessions.
I’ve doubled down on my nutrition, recovery and the structure of my weeks. When your time and energy are limited, poor planning becomes expensive.
I’m incredibly lucky. My wife has taken the lead at home, and I don’t take that for granted.
Despite the fatigue, my business is now the biggest it has ever been.
I’ve been reading Brad Stulberg’s The Way of Excellence, and one idea has stuck with me:
Our ability to handle pressure is influenced by the meaning we attach to what we’re doing.
For me, that meaning is clear.
To be the best father, husband and coach I can be and help create stronger, more resilient men and better leaders.
Men whose children learn through their actions, not just their words.
A difficult season isn’t an excuse to lower your standards.
It’s an invitation to become more strategic about how you uphold them.

You’re not lazy, mate. You’re just cooked.
A lot of men think they have a motivation problem.
They don’t.
They have an energy-management problem.
They’re underslept, overstimulated, stressed, under-recovered and running on caffeine and bad decisions.
Then they wonder why they can’t train properly, think clearly or show up at a high level.
You cannot operate like a weapon when your routine is built for a man who is barely surviving.
High performance is not just about pushing harder.
It’s about building systems that give you energy back.
Better sleep.
Better food.
Structured training.
Less alcohol.
More water.
More sunlight.
Less scrolling at night.
None of this is complicated.
But done consistently, these simple habits will completely change the way you operate.
You need to stop living in a way that drains you before the day has even started.
Because when your energy is shot, everything suffers.
Your work output drops.
Your patience at home disappears.
Your training becomes inconsistent.
Your decision-making gets worse.
So before you start blaming motivation, take a hard look at your routine.
Sort out your energy management.
Build better recovery systems.
Then watch what happens to your performance everywhere else.
