Such a busy start to our term! 🌟

Our Saturday exam preparation classes have returned and our dancers are showing so much focus and enthusiasm for the work ahead. It's wonderful to watch this dedication as we move into exam season.

A huge thank you to Miss Frances, who joined the Barbara Todd Ballet team this year as our new Lyrical teacher! 💕

It was wonderful to have parents along on Thursday night to watch the Lyrical class in action. The routine the girls performed was just beautiful, and it was a great opportunity for everyone to see the hard work and progress happening in this class.

It means so much to our dancers to have you there cheering them on. Watching classes is such a lovely way to see how much progress the students have made, and I know the dancers loved showing off what they've been working on.

We are so proud of all the students from Barbara Todd Ballet, Felicity Ryan Ballet , Hobart Dance Academy - HDA , House of Dance (HOD) , Industrie Performing Arts, Jenina's Dance Workshop and Prima Ballet Academy who performed this weekend with the Victorian State Ballet in their production of Aladdin at the Theatre Royal, Hobart.

The girls should be so proud of themselves, not only for their beautiful performances across the two shows, but for their patience and kindness backstage while waiting during rehearsals.

A huge thank you to all the Hobart schools for their support. A special thank you to Ali HDA for looking after us with dinner on Saturday night, and to HOD for the beautiful flowers. It was wonderful having Felicity and Sarah help out backstage on Sunday, thank you both. And thank you to our very own Chloe for being such a wonderful backstage support, as always.

We are so lucky to be part of such a strong ballet community here in Hobart.

The biggest thank you of all goes to the Victorian State Ballet for this wonderful opportunity for our dancers. As one of our parents so beautifully put it, you made so many girls' dreams come true this weekend 💛✨🧞🥰

We are so excited to welcome Miss Lottie to the Barbara Todd Ballet teaching faculty! 🩰

Miss Lottie trained intensively at Classical Ballet 121 before earning a position as a Young Artist with the Ajkun Ballet Theatre in New York, where she performed across New York State under the mentorship of Dr. Chiara Ajkun. She returned to Australia to complete a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) at WAAPA, and is currently completing a Master of Teaching while training as a Mat Pilates instructor.

Our students are in wonderful hands — Miss Lottie joins us to teach conditioning and open ballet, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have her on board.

A huge congratulations to our four Barbara Todd Ballet dancers who were selected for the Victorian State Ballet's production of Aladdin — Stephanie, Audrey, Rose and Zara, we are so proud of you! 🌟

You were wonderful on audition day and you earned your place on that stage. We cannot wait to watch you perform at the Theatre Royal, Hobart on 27 and 28 June!

What a day! We hosted auditions today for the Victorian State Ballet's production of Aladdin, and nearly 60 dancers from schools across Hobart participated.

Barbara Todd Ballet is so happy to facilitate this kind of opportunity for Hobart's dance community. It's wonderful to see dancers from different schools come together like this, and we are proud of every single one of them.

Congratulations to the 24 dancers who were selected — we can't wait to see you on stage!

Aladdin comes to the Theatre Royal, Hobart on 27 and 28 June, and our youth dancers will be performing in both shows. 🎭

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mums, grandmothers and carers in our Barbara Todd Ballet community.

To every mum who ties the ribbons, washes the leotards, drives to class week after week, and cheers from the wings at every exam and performance, you are such an important part of what makes this school so special. Watching your children grow in confidence, strength, and artistry is a privilege, and we know that none of it would be possible without the love and support you pour into them every single day.
