π§ 150 CLUB GAMES β SAM βSHAGGYβ LOWE! ππ€
150 games. One club. An absolute mountain of graft.
Congratulations to Sam βShaggyβ Lowe on reaching the massive milestone of 150 club games! π§π―
Shaggy β as he is affectionately known by pretty much everyone other than his mother β is a true cultural beacon of Taroona Rugby, both on and off the field.
Games, training, social eventsβ¦ if thereβs a Penguin gathering, chances are Shaggs is somewhere in the middle of it.
On the field, Shaggy has become part of Taroona folklore.
There are two things you can guarantee:
1οΈβ£ Shaggs will be at the bottom of just about every ruck.
2οΈβ£ Heβll somehow manage to cop a whack in the crown jewels at training from his good mate Pierce. π
Look up βHookerβ in the Old Oxford Dictionary and we fully expect to find a photo of Shaggs.
This isn't some flashy modern-day ho**er scoring tries willy-nilly. No, no, no.
Shaggs is the bloke doing the dirty work.
The bloke at the bottom of the ruck.
The bloke clearing bodies out.
The bloke making sure we get clean ball.
The bloke who only really emerges from the darkness at lineout time to throw the ball in. π
An absolute mountain of graft, week after week.
A former First Grade and Club Captain, Shaggs embodies exactly what you want from a leader β leads from the front, leads by example and never asks anyone to do something he wouldn't do himself.
And that leadership extends well beyond the rugby field.
Shaggs has also made it his personal mission to encourage players β and frankly, anyone who will listen β to join him for his other great passion:
A Mango Smash at Poobah.
IFYKYK. πΉπ
Shaggs, 150 club games is one hell of a shift.
You've earned every one of them, and Taroona Rugby is better for having you in the Colony.
Congratulations Shaggy β 150 down, here's hoping there are plenty more to come! π§ππ€

π§ 100 FIRST GRADE GAMES β NOAH βNOZβ KAZARINE! ππ€
100 games. One jersey. One club.
Congratulations to our home-grown Penguin Noah βNozβ Kazarine on reaching the huge milestone of 100 First Grade games! π§π―
Noz has come through our junior system, developed through the Penguins pathway and made the jump into senior rugby β and heβs worn the Taroona jersey with nothing but pride, commitment and plenty of ticker.
Clocking up 100 First Grade games is no easy feat, and Noz has done it the hard way β putting his body on the line, doing whatever the team needs and consistently turning up for the club.
Heβs also pulled on the Jack Jumpers jersey on multiple tours, playing his part on the representative stage and helping fly the flag for Tasmanian Rugby. π¦π
Now our current Premiership co-captain, this utility back is the ultimate team man. Wherever the team needs him, Noz is happy to go β and when he gets his chance, you can guarantee that sniper-like boot is ready to cause some damage. π―
And with the Finals Series upon us, thereβs no doubt Noz will be right in the thick of it, helping lead the Penguins towards the ultimate prize.
100 First Grade games. A home-grown Penguin. A leader. A competitor.
Congratulations Noah βNozβ Kazarine β an absolute Penguin legend in the making. π§π―
CONGRATULATIONS NOZ! ππ€

Both teams head to Burnie with the Minor Premiership within reach. The opportunity is there β now itβs time to seize it. Wins will secure or some other technical equations that i need a calculator for so just win...
π PREMIERSHIP β DEVONPORT
We've already secured the Minor Premiership, but thereβs still plenty to play for on way to Finals. The Bulls, who will be looking for the win to cement second spot as they build towards finals.
Both menβs fixtures kick off at 3PM β a long way from the safety of the Fortress and a true test of the depth, resilience and standards of our programs.

π WEEKEND GAME DAY GUIDE π§ππ€
The Penguins are on the road this weekend, with Friday Night's Junior Program the only action at the Penguin Fortress.
π Premiership head north to take on Devonport.
π Championship and Women's sides travel to Burnie in a massive double-header.
π Under 16 Boys hit the road to Launceston.
π₯ Minor Premierships are on the line!
Our Women's and Championship teams control their own destiny. A win this weekend secures the Minor Premiership. There are a few mathematical scenarios that could also get the job done... but we'll keep it simple...
Win and it's ours. πͺ
π Congratulations to our Premiership side, who wrapped up the Minor Premiership last weekend with a bonus-point victory over Launceston. Now the focus turns to finishing the regular season strongly before finals against an ever improving Bulls Team.
