Over the past few months, Che has been showing up to the gym consistently, with a coach in his corner keeping him accountable every step of the way. That consistency is what’s driving the results your seeing, week on week.
That progress comes down to one key principle: progression. Gradually increasing the demands on your muscles over time - whether that's lifting heavier, doing more reps, or upping the intensity.

For Alice, training with Michael is about more than the workout - it's the conversations between sets, feeling safe and supported, the sense of community, and the gentle push from Michael to go further than she thought she could.
"He helps me surprise myself. I'll say, 'I don't think I can do that.' And he'll respond by saying, 'I'm pretty sure you can.' Then I feel more capable, strong and powerful."
That's what training at DoDay is all about!

Alice discovered she was far more capable than she believed. Strength training didn't just build muscle - it helped her step outside and back herself, even when anxiety tried to shrink her world.
Starting in the gym was daunting. New faces, unfamiliar equipment, and social anxiety telling her to turn around. But with her mum's encouragement, she took that first step with Michael.
Fast forward, and Alice trains three times a week. She's stronger, more confident, and says training has changed how she shows up in every part of her life.
"I promise the feeling of anxiety isn't going to last forever." - Alice
If fear is holding you back from starting, let this be your sign.

Think you don’t belong in a gym? It’s a common misconception that the weights area is just for body builders. At DoDay we train all ages, all body types, all fitness levels, all professions.
Strength is for everyone. DoDay is for you.
Reach out to find your strength.
Because strength feels good.
Che’s goal is to be stronger and move well for soccer. Over three months, he’s seen constant improvements in his strength.
Critically, the accountability of having a trainer keeps Che showing up with consistency being his biggest win. He has seen big changes since starting PT compared to working out (inconsistently due to a busy work schedule) on his own.
The support and accountability has also led to major improvements in his diet, particularly through increases in his protein intake.
A lot can change in 3 months with a bit of guidance!
Trap bar deadlift
Why to do it:
A trap bar deadlift is used in the gym to build total-body strength, specially targeting the quads, glutes and back. A trap bar deadlift is a safer and more beginner friendly option compared to a traditional deadlift. It offers a neutral grip and reduces lower back strain by cantering the load, allowing for heavier lifting.
How to do it:
1) Positioning yourself inside the hexagonal trap bar, with your shins aligned with (or just in front of) the centre of the bar.
2) Grip the handles with a neutral grip, brace your core and maintain a neutral spine.
3) Maintaining a flat back, drive through the mid-foot to stand up, while extending your knees and hips at the same time.
4) Stand tall and squeeze your glutes at the top without overextending your back.
5) Reverse the movement by hinging at the hips first, then bending the knees while maintaining control to lower the trap bar.
